Weatherford, OK Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), has issued a disturbing policy which requires all employees to refrain from using the word "Christmas" in oral or written form. This directive was given by the university upon legal advice of the Oklahoma Attorney General, W.A. Drew Edmondson. Liberty Counsel sent a demand letter to SWOSU following a complaint from a university affiliate.
John Misak, the Director of Human Resources, recently visited various university departments and employee groups and informed everyone that any decorations featuring the word "Christmas" in any work or public areas of the university must be immediately removed. He also instructed everyone to discontinue the use of the term "Christmas" in their speech while on the job. This censorship specifically includes exchanging greetings of "Merry Christmas" among employees or with nonemployees, whether initiated by a nonuniversity employee or not. Christmas remains a legal holiday for state employees, including those at SWOSU. The directive does not include any other legal holidays such as Thanksgiving or New Years.

My husband always answers someone’s “Happy Holidays” with a hearty “And Happy Jesus’ birthday to you, too!” We can get way more specific than “Merry Christmas”, you know.
One day America is going to awake,(its probably in the Bible we just have not located it yet)but that day is sooner rather than later. And New Pilgrims will be formed,I just don’t see no where to go,that only means its going to get ugly.
Wow...

Then they should be told to show up for work on the 25th of Dec.
What amazes me is that language from this “directive” is not included in the article nor is there any language in the scant details to answer the simple question, “Why?”
I wholeheartedly agree its time to stop this political correctness. I sent an e mail to this department at the University and in bold letters told them what I think and included MERRY CHRISTMAS in the e mail several times, This place should be inundated with emails from concerned people.
One of three, not necessarily exclusive reasons:
Just wish everyone a happy Easter.
Well Merry Grinchmas to them (and here’t to hoping they grow a heart)!
This is just the university caving, not making the decision. The wrath should be directed towards the AG for not telling the affiliate to take a hike. I wonder if there's any way of finding out who complained.
The AG's website says that he doesn't advise the university, and that this is a hoax. He also said that the people who are spreading this information about him are liars who will get "coal in their stocking" (no joke).
Killing two birds with one stone...
Maybe we should email the folks at SWOSU with this.
Warning: Extremely Vulgar, Tacky, Offensive, yet (to me) Funny.
South Park's Merry ****ing Christmas
Cheers!
...oh, and Merry Christmas.
Why not? Academia is where liberals congregate because they can’t cut it in the real world. It is highly unlikely for a real conservative to persue an academic career (with exceptions - and they have great stories on how they got into it - like Sowell and W. Williams).
How about Felix Navidad? Yesterday I found that Sears has various designs for its gift-card. Happy Holidays, Cheers, etc. also Felix Navidad. But Merry Christmas is nowhere to be found.
What have we allowed to happen to our country?
This is really an opportunity for a small plane flying a MERRY CHRISTMAS banner over the campus.
If the "world" wants to eliminate the public celebration of Christmas, we should be perfectly willing to a) make sure it doesn't get to benefit from any of the publicly promoted trappings of it like time off and b) withdraw from the retail participation of it (i.e. make gifts, concentrate on celebrating it more spiritually, etc...)
The people running the show in these places are going to continue to piss on our Christian backs and tell us it's raining until ALL of the beloved revenue it generates for them drys up and goes away.
When did OK ban the Rebel Flag? I never heard of that.
