COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.
I’m not sure I believe that satan is no longer running the show here on earth. I know Christ is our redeemer but am not convinced that he took it back. Too much evil in the world for that. but I do believe he is returning to take possession. Maranatha!

Heard the Pastor of the church’s news conference.
He could not add much but did say:
The Shooter was not known by his church - just walked on to the church property and started shooting.
The security guard was a volunteer who has a license to carry and use the firearm....not an off duty police officer.
He also said this security officer had been stationed right in the middle of their front rotunda because of the precautionary measures they took as a result of the earlier shootings.
She ran toward the shooter and took him out! She probably saved at least 100 lives.
Her usual post is near the Pastor - as his personal security.
This church had an action plan for just such an occurrance and it went into action - with dozens of volunteers helping move people to predesignated safe places (and it sounded like maybe each group had an armed person with them as protection...but that was not spelled out).
This Pastor of course said his church was providing grief counselors for any and all who wanted it and were hurting so much for those who were shot and their families.....AND he said they were praying for the family of the shooter because he knew the boy had a mother and a dad and he knew they would be grieving too.
He praised God for giving them the wisdom to add the extra security measures after hearing about the earlier shooting (a staff member came into the pastor’s study at 7:30 am and informed him of what had happened earlier and that he recommended added security - and the Pastor said - “That sounds like a good idea.”)
He also praised the security guard, saying she was a member there and would usually spend one of the services in worship and the other one as the volunteer security guard....(evidently for him personally).
Thank you, dear God, for giving this church and its leaders and its members the wisdom and knowledge and the right people at the right time to keep this tragedy from being so much more terrible.
(God gives wisdom to those who seek it from Him).
I saw the Colorado Springs Chief of Police at a televised press conference (10 PM MST last night) tell the press that what were originally suspected to possibly be IEDs where determined to merely be smoke producing devices.
The news reports of what the Police Chief said were essentially correct. You can call them explosives and fixate on the results of an imaginary encounter you might have with the BATF if you want, but most people can differentiate between an explosive and a smoke bomb.
Update: A second victim has died in the Colo Spring shooting.

Depends on what one means by that, imho.
Satan has a long rope currently.
But he is still encapsulated, contained in some boundaries, as it were; as it is.
He no longer has anything close to carte blanche . . . if he ever really did.
His legal authority has been taken away at the Cross.
He’s a brazen usurper for sure, now. And, he knows his days are numbered and short.
As Scripture says, he’s out to make the most [mayhem] that he can in the time remaining.
We’re in spiritual warfare—God against satan. Sometimes it looks like satan is winning and he probably is winning some battles, but he will never win the war. Our country is in a spiritual battle for its soul and the souls of its young people. satan hates America and is trying to destroy its children.
You are so right. Too many people are set free to kill again.

I agree that satan can’t do anything without God’s approval. God ultimately is in control, but satan has this world by the tail until such time as God chooses to send Jesus back to earth to kick the old devil right out of here.

In a church of this size, there is a big difference between "not known by his church" and "not known by some people in his church" or even "not acquainted with some people in his church."
Does anyone else find it odd that this is supposedly a “random attack” and yet two sisters and a man with the same last name account for 3 of the 5 shot at New Life?
I find the comments about it to be much more disruptive than the posts some find to be so offensive.

No. It was a family getting into a van together after church service.
There were dozens of families getting into vehicles. But the shooter proceeded to the church.
Reminds me of Psalm 2...and of course how satan, in the end will actually try and war with YHVH. Pathetic but what has been going on in third world nations has now emboldened the last bastions of Christianity inside our crumbling borders. Our nation is leaking immorality like a sieve and the very heart of the open doors of worship are being attacked
This whole world since 9/11( escalation of events) is turning so anti-God(YHVH) and so obsequious to every whim of allah and just the tearing apart of what this country originally was founded on I have this feeling( mainly from reading the prophecies of the latter days) that escalation and justification of outright murder of Christians everywhere will be par for the course( already happening in Sudan, Malaysia, Iraq, Phillipines...)
Being a messianic Jew, this is a double whammy. I have a license to carry, am on the security team at my church and the local synagogue. Of course I don't carry within the walls of the church but having been in a war I have seen the total chaos that can happen to the most peaceful innocents and am careful to the point of what folks call paranoid I suppose.
You know the difference between allah and the teddy bear incident in Sudan and this double whammy in Colorado, I highly doubt there will be death warnings to the families of the murderers, merely prayers, love and deep sorrow....true Christians have always overcome evil with love, but they are also mighty warriors also. Just waiting to see if it was a "gay" club, some twisted satanics or just purely lost souls looking for their fame. Yes, the world does hate Christians. And this war of "... principalities and powers..." is and has been currently fought with lead. The battle lines were drawn a long time ago. These "incidents" won't go away anytime soon.
The smoke bombs tell me he was probably looking for more of a target rich environment, specially as the van that he first attacked drove away after he'd shot a couple of people in it.
