The GOP presidential candidate says U.S. sovereignty is at risk. Highway and trade officials and transportation consultants say there are no plans for such a project.
WASHINGTON -- The man from Arlington, Texas, could barely contain his smirk as he looked into a computer video camera to pose a question of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.

The plan continues across the Bering Strait to Siberia. There is otherwise no reason whatsoever to push it through to Fairbanks.
Looks like the (understandable) opposition to Ron Paul’s foreign policy positions by some members is spilling over to other Ron Paul positions - like a Paul derangement syndrome. What is the ploy here, to discredit Ron Paul’s positions on foreign policy by discrediting his overwhelmingly (though imperfect, of course) conservative credentials on domestic issues? Or is it a grander derangement, whereby you neocon gasbags hate Ron Paul so much that you actually begin to define your political positions so as to maximally oppose him?
It is a common fallacy. One found throughout political rhetoric because it's emotionally persuasive. But until "society" becomes an entity with its own brain, a fallacy it will be. You do see the plain truth of this don't you?
I’ll look for it, thats why I pinged mnehrling, it was her research.
Here ya go.

The Framers were deluded?
That's a pretty radical claim.
So, you would replace their ideas about society with what? Radical capitalism? Social Darwinism? Unleash the Beasts? Eat and be eaten?
No. Just willing to engage in polemics. The federalist papers is a collection of political arguments, not philosophical "truths".
The Hwy will be built. The purpose is to allow ships to be unloaded in Mexico instead of the US. This will put those evil longshormen in the unemployment line. The road will allow the Mexican trucks to get just about anywhere in the US within 3 days and Canada in 4 from Mexican ports.
Thanks for the link - I found the one you mentioned.
Well, he might have some crazy followers... but even a broken clock is right twice a day and I for one think there IS something to these NAFTA New World Order National ID Card nasty crap.

Why did Ron Paul get a $13 million dollar earmark for the Nafta Highway?
It's pretty hard to make serfs out of a healthy middle class but if you think about it what better way than to overrun and inextricably meld them with very poor, very uneducated, very needy strangers who can't even speak the language. And what a boon that great big highway will be.
The opportunity to effect some huge money transfers is breath taking. This highway is scary stuff and to those who are pooh-poohing it,I have sadness for some who do not understand, and contempt for others, who not only do understand but have planned it and will benefit from it.
I would suppose the less monied land owners will have their property taken by eminent domain while the corporations and very wealthy landowners will be paid handsomely for their property and probably get some benefits regards development along the highway. Americans really need to wake up.
You might take a look at those maps someone put up a while back, you just might find that area in Kentucky where the cell satellites were installed.
Well, not quite, since they would not have to go through customs until Kansas City. Also the traffic counts there certainly do not warrant such an undertaking. Even in 2025, most rural sections of I-35 will still only need 6 lanes at the most (including the last 150 miles to the Mexican border in Texas which will still only need 4 lanes, which makes NAFTA hardly a real reason for the problems). As for the link to Canada - that is currently a 2 lane highway!
That is the problem. To upgrade in Texas to an ordinary Interstate is easy (most of the US-59/77 corridor is already 4 or more lanes, just need to build interchanges). But ego is getting in the way of reality...
That was discussed weeks ago. Click here.
Nice way to circumvent the panama canal.
“So, you really do want the Democrats to win. Call 99% of Americans obsolete”
No,if I wanted Dims to win, I’d vote for Paul or Hunter
“Or is your idea of a man’s virtue tied to the smallness of his paycheck? “Cheap for me is good for thee”?
would it make you feel better if they joined the teamsters?
Yup. Texas has a lot of republican legislooters that used to be democrats (for instance, Gov. Perry) who are committed to the concept of "crony capitalism".
