Are you going to vote in the November 2008 election no matter who wins the Republican primary?

Posted on 11/25/2007 5:29:03 PM PST by cradle of freedom

I would like to know if you are going to vote in the November 2008 election even if your candidate does not win. Will you stay home if you don't like the Republican candidate?

Another thing that I have often wondered about is whether people actually stay home when they are disheartened. News commentators often say that some voters may have decided to stay home because they were not happy with the candidates. I think that is a mistake because even if you do not like the person at the top of the ticket you should at least vote for the other candidates. Have you every actually stayed home and not gone to the polls at all because you were not happy with a candidate?

I remember the ‘90s.

Sadly, I remember them too. I remember serving under a Commander in Chief that we had NO respect for, knowing that the feeling was mutual.

I remember the long discussions we had at an Air Force school re: the Lewinsky affair.

Fortunately, I didn't have children then, sparing me the "Daddy, what's oral sex?" conversations...but a Hillary presidency will make sure I have to explain to my 3 children why the schools are wrong to teach about homosexuality.

if you stand for abortion, if you’re standing for the destruction of the moral foundation and understanding of family, then you’re going to destroy America.

And who can justify voting for somebody who’s going to destroy your country, because they wear a Republican label rather than a Democrat label? It doesn’t matter a bit. The destruction will be the same.

That Keyes, he always says it straight up, eh?

I had small children then, but I didn’t have to have those “What’s oral sex?” conversations either, because I always snapped the radio off or changed the channel on the TV immediately whenever Clinton came on, so the subject never came up.

I always vote. I have never missed an election since I became old enough to vote, and that was a few years back.

I sometimes vent if I feel I don’t have anyone I really want to vote for- but it never seems to fail that there is someone I feel a strong need to vote against.

I really don’t understand those that don’t vote- it makes no sense to me.

boogey-man

Funny that, how do you suppose that works so well in the primary, but (at least nationally) when a nominee is shoved down the Conservative throat, it always ends with the GOP getting handed it's hat in the general.

There must be a considerable advantage to the back east states in the primary or something...

I definitely will be voting GOP this November... NO third party. No way will I stay home, or vote third party and allow Hillary to end up as Commander-in-Chief of our courageous and honorable military personnel.

My husband, family, extended family and friends say they're doing the same.

I don’t want Hillary OR Rudy. What’s the difference. Explain.

For one thing: SECDEF in a Rat administration (Hildy or whoever) is someone like John Murtha or John Kerry. In a Republican administration, it's someone like John McCain or Tommy Franks. That's just the beginning.

I would crawl over broken glass to vote for any one of the potential Republican candidates running against Hillary.

So would I, Yaelle.

I vote for whatever Republican makes it through the beauty contests. What other choice do I have? It’s really about the people who get appointed and hired in the administration more than anything else. We have to keep on voting a Republican into the WH because otherwise we’ll never get rid of all the lefties in positions of influence in the government agencies. Witness the State Department and all those whiny, gutless wonders who didn’t want to go to Iraq because they might get dust on their blazers. Only time gets rid of most of those eejits.

YES.

The only reason we even are facing the prospect of the Hildabeast in the White House is because this same thinking led people to vote against those horrible men-—George H.W. Bush and Bob Dole-—and give their votes to losers such as Perot.

Instead of sending the Klintoons packing back to Arkansas, we not only put them in the White House, we opened the door for HER + Him to be in our national life for the rest of our lives.

It’s so gross that people are even thinking about handing that fate to the nation again.

“A vote for Rudy or Mitt is not much different than voting for a democrat....I just can’t understand how you guys turn a blind eye to that fact.”

Because they have an R after their name and it is suppose to make them better.

Take Rudy’s stance on the issues without his name on it (blind study) and you would swear it was a liberal stance.

As I keep posting, we still have time to make a difference so it won’t be Rudy.

P.S. Not for you, teeny, but to add to what you said:

“I will never vote for Rudy!” is just as much crapola as “I will never pull my ox out of a ditch on the Sabbath!”-—and suffers from the same noted lack of logic and surplus of arrogance and corrupted view of moral superiority.

If I have to, I will pull my lever while holding my nose to keep out a D, but I am NOT voting for a RINO for the nomination!

One can always do a write-in if you don’t care for the nominee.

Correction: one can always do a write-in [for a sure loser] if you don't care for the country.

We’re dealing with a bunch of self-important egomaniacs here who place their pride above the safety of the country and the entire free world.
