Are you going to vote in the November 2008 election no matter who wins the Republican primary?

Posted on 11/25/2007 5:29:03 PM PST by cradle of freedom

I would like to know if you are going to vote in the November 2008 election even if your candidate does not win. Will you stay home if you don't like the Republican candidate?

Another thing that I have often wondered about is whether people actually stay home when they are disheartened. News commentators often say that some voters may have decided to stay home because they were not happy with the candidates. I think that is a mistake because even if you do not like the person at the top of the ticket you should at least vote for the other candidates. Have you every actually stayed home and not gone to the polls at all because you were not happy with a candidate?

“People who don’t care enough to try to beat the Democrats are my enemies, Republican or not.”

Interesting logic that gets us so called republicans (NOT conservatives) like Larry Craig, Bob Barr, Bob Bauman, Mark Foley to name a few.

Thanks but no thanks.

We need better candidates and real conservatives and the top tier boys in this current presidential race are not it, IMO.

Vote for Rudy, you still end up with Hillary with a haircut, but he is a republican. LOL

All this, "I will NEVER vote for Rudy!!!!" crap just makes my blood boil.

A vote for Rudy (in the primaries) is a vote for Hillary (in the general).

People are just trying to tell you the truth about that. Accept reality.

The two party system is meaningless when both parties nominate people on the same side of the political spectrum.

You trying to tell me there is not difference between Lieberman and Rangle?

Like I said, Rudy is not my choice, but as liberal as he is, he is STILL better than Hillary.

If you think they are the same, you are a simpleton.

"...but the difference between Rudy and Hitlery and NOT "very clear."

The difference is clear to me. One will destroy the country in 5 years, the other 10. I say get it over with quickly if that's the verdict. At least I would still be young enough to fire a round or two in the resultant civil war.

Thinking is bad, comrade. Let the glorious PARTY think for you. Repeat after me...

There you go, thinking like a DUmmie.

Except that the DUmmies, for all their myriad failings, do have a sense of what's important in the political game...WINNING. Once their primaries stop, you will see them march in lockstep behind the Hildebeast, and those who decide they can't or won't vote for the GOP because Candidate X is (or isn't) at the top of the ticket are going to make the DUmmies' job a lot easier.

You can't legislate your agenda from the Minority, as our side is re-learning painfully, thanks to those who decided to have a moral conscience in 2006, and stayed home to "teach the GOP a lesson."

If you can live with that, hey, be my guest, it is still a free country...at least till President Hillary takes the oath on 01-20-09.

I will vote and I will vote conservative.

If Republicans decide to run a conservative, I will gladly vote for that person.

I am going to vote for Hunter in the primaries, but I have no control over other peoples’ votes, so come November I am going to vote for the Republican even if he is a RINO simply because there is no other choice. The real opportunity to have your favorite candidate is in the primaries. Then you vote for the person you really believe in, not because you think that he can win against the Democrats. If we are fortunate enough to have a true conservative win in the primaries, then it is up to the Republican Party to “sell” the Republican candidate to independents and Democrats as well. Ronald Reagan was a conservative but he got elected because he had a strong belief and he knew how to articulate his beliefs, so we shouldn’t be afraid that conservatives cannot win a general election. Besides, it is the liberal media that keeps trying to plant the idea in our minds that conservatives can’t win, because from their liberal view point conservatism is not a mainstream belief. But we know better, we know that conservatism is the foundation and framework of our culture and government. We are not the unAmerican weirdos...the liberals are.
After a Republican candidate is elected, all Republicans should support him all the way. Even if he is a RINO, all is not lost, he can still be pressured by “the base” to stay in line. God forbid, even if a Democrat like Hillary is elected, we can still make a lot of noise and keep putting on the pressure. Never give up.

As far as the RINO problem, I think that the highter up the political ladder you go, the more money and special interests come into play, so I think that there will always be more RINOs in the higher offices. I think that Republicans have to spread the warning about the deadly RINO much as Jesus warned about wolves in sheep clothing. As more Republicans and other Americans begin to realize that there is much duplicity in politics, they will become more discerning and careful in their voting. Hopefully this will begin to reduce corruption and power lust in politics. These problems will never go away, but they can be reduced by an aware citizenry. In a democratic government, those who wish to control us can only use trickery and lies. It is up to us to see right through them. That is the only way we can defend ourselves.

We Republicans were dealt a serious blow in recent years when we learned that there were people who would use the words and concepts of the Republic to deceive people into voting for them. For me, the peek behind the curtain happened when George W. Bush stubbornly and defiantly opened the border with Mexico. He is letting Ramos and Compean rot in prison while he lets drug smugglers go free. That is an icepick through the heart to all of America. I suspect that the open border globalists probably have several crypto-globalist candidates lined up in both parties. Even if a non-globalist candidate actually wins, the globalists will be all over him/her like white on rice, to bring him/her into the globalist fold. We have to realize what we are up against. The RINOs and special interests play like the major leagues, we cannot afford to act like the little leagues. We have to be “wise as serpents, harmless as doves”.

Yes I will vote. I haven’t decided for whom. I will also vote in the primary. At the present time I prefer Fred. I think his policy paper on immigration is outstanding.

I don’t understand his tax policy. But he would try to keep the tax cuts that will expire if something is not done. All the democrats would not only let them expire but have many new tax proposals to make.

Just beware there are many issues in this up coming election.

I will vote for the Republican candidate.

It is the only realistic choice. Hitlery MUST BE STOPPED! I will not stand by and watch the country once again slimed by the Clintons just because I didn’t get my pet candidate on the ballot.

“My how times have changed. Now we hear nothing but panicked screeching that we have to beat Hillary no matter who goes up against her. It was a losing strategy when the democrats tried it and it’s a losing strategy now.”

No kidding! If you look at the money trail, lots of so called republicans and those who supported GW are now sending big money to Hillary.

The philosophy of the “lesser of two evils” suck. Not going to play the game anymore, but with your earlier advice will write in the guy who came the closest to beating Rudy in the Primaries if I agree with their philosophy.

And the DNC thanks you for your support.

They should thank the folks who would vote for Fidel Castro if he were the Republican nominee.

I fail to see the clarity between Rudy and Hillary.

And I can't blame you for that. But the difference is there, if you look for it.

For what it's worth, I don't have a candidate yet. One thing I DO know, the candidate I vote for in November 2008 WILL have an R next to his name.

And, I live in Commiefornia, where it's right next to useless to vote for the GOP...
