They won’t strike down anything there.

They’ll make it WORSE.

In NJ it’s just as bad ... . Meanwhile all the criminals EASILY get guns and kill us for expensive eneakers.

What they ought to do is fry some of these thugs. THAT’s the ONLY way they’ll think twice and make guns EASILY available to law abiding citizens.

It’s going to depend on what they decide. Sometimes “do nothing” is better than “doing wrong”.

Yes, there is a reason to hear it.

The SCOTUS, as a matter of policy, will hear cases where there are differing opinions on the subject matter out of two or more of the US Circuit Courts.

In this case, we have exactly that issue. We have decisions out of the Fifth Circuit Court and the DC Court that the Second Amendment recognizes an individual right, and we have a decision out of the Ninth Circuit Court (where else?) that the Second Amendment is a collective right.

This sort of variance between circuit courts almost always will result in a properly constructed case being heard by the SCOTUS. There cannot be two sets of case law in the land in differing areas of the country.

This is a test case, to see if the conservatives can hold the court. When and if the conservative interpretation of the constitution is upheld, the Democrats will turn this into a campaign issue. Many city dwellers would prefer a ban on hand guns.

If it’s not heard by the courts it will continue to be subject to the discriminations and misinterpretations of the politicians.

Although I feel the court is very much swayed by politics. We can only hope they use common sense. These are people of our time and now have to interpret writings of the Founders in their time. Which is always a crap shoot.

So, will the Supreme Court now become grammar police, deciding on the meaning of a single comma?

There is no reason to hear it.

It’s a Constitutional Right.

Exactly! What's to decide? It is explicitly stated in the 2nd Amendment. It scares me that we even have to think about this. Why have a poll? Who cares what a "poll" says. It is our God-given right.

Another poorly worded poll:

Agreed. Intentionally IMO.
Yes means more gun control. No means leave things as they are.

I still disagree.

It is a RIGHT to bear arms.

NO dicussion to water it down is needed.

"There cannot be two sets of case law in the land in differing areas of the country."

Why not?

That's pretty much what we have going on, where the Left Coast and Minority-Dominated entitlements' crowds are have installed Activist Judges who make law by tortured readings of the Constitution in order to enact the Liberal agenda.

The Law of the land is no longer based on the Framers' intent, nor the plain language of the Constitution; it's now based on the twisted interpretations that brought us to this point of taxation, socialism, and every sort of burden on individual freedom that was expressly forbidden in the Constitution to begin with.

The attacks by the ACLU, Atheists, sex deviates, minorities, and every other special interest have eroded whatever freedoms we once had, with no relief in sight.

When illegal criminals can be afforded sanctuary in locations of Liberal control, clearly in violation of Federal Law, why would the citizenry's right to be armed to defend themselves necessarily be expected to be protected?

This case will determine if yet another freedom is taken away (the right to bear arms).

You can bet that if the Constitution is upheld, the Liberals will be screaming about "the children" and "we must pass legislation to stop the killing", etc., and the push will continue to disarm those who abide by the law, and to remove the guns from the opposition to the socialists takeover of the entire economy.

Isn’t there more important issues on the table like terrorism than trying to take my guns away?

Hearing oral arguments in March, decision probably in June. Prediction: They uphold the previous ruling (that struck down the ban) by at least 7-2 if not unanimous.

Well, obviously, you seem to have a superior command of how the court system in this country works.

Good luck with that should you have to appear in one.

Apparently it hasn't. One article at boston.com states that, as a percentage, it's gone up since the gun ban. No big surprise there.

Talk About a Rigged Poll!

You vote "Yes" if you question individual gun ownership.

You vote "No" if think the 2nd already gives you "right to bear arms."

But voting "No" gives you the status quo of a right not recognized in many places in this country.

So Liberal's give Gun Rights the "Yes" we win... "No" you lose choice!
