Seattle Public Schools has distributed a letter to their teaching staff instructing them to be sensitive to the fact that for many Indian people, Thanksgiving is a time of mourning.

Cherokee, German, and Irish???
Somewhere in there lies a good joke involving Guinness, WWII, and getting bombed.

Zum wohl!!
No one should cry for WA indians. They get half the proceeds of all WA fisheries, regardless of who does the fishing, and there are indian casinos all over the state. And I mean ALL OVER. And don’t forget about the fireworks, cigarettes, etc.
Thanksgiving is one of the holidays that is specifically for giving thanks to God. It’s been slowly chipped away at by turning into a reason to be generically thankful, for what and for whom, nobody really says.
The liberals are hell bend on removing any mention of God from our society and this is just another tactic. The other way didn’t work quite so well, so now they’re trying to completely change the focus.
No need to mourn this year, the Detroit Lions have a winning record...
Payback’s a beotch.
Syphilis spread throughout Asia, and came from the new world.
Some people just need to get over themselves. Living in the past, they rob themselves of the future. Typical Liberal Victimhood Loserism.
How ridiculous.
I think the author of the letter should be banished to the reservation.
Then let’s see how “sympathetic” he/she is.
Baptist ping
Mourning for the turkeys may apply. The indians (part Choctaw here) are doing quite well with the casinos.
Canandaigua? Lackawanna? Skinecktitty?
Places like that?
(Just kidding! I’m a native New Yorker from Livingston county.)
Answers my question: Yes, the entire world has gone mad.
You were at that meal when I said that to her???
Gotta break down everything that’s uniquely American if you want the US more easily assimilated into the World Socialist Order. They have also recently made it illegal for American historians and museums to acquire American Military Medals and Decorations for study or display. A supposedly unintended consequence of the Stolen Valor Act.
Did I getcha? LOL!
Actually, in a saner time, Thanksgiving was a time to thank God for His blessings. Now it has devolved into an orgy of guilt for having more than someone else does. I hate the parades and even the football games. All they do is blather about “giving back” and force NFL players to work at soup kitchens. What do they need to give back to a neighborhood where they probably had to dodge bullets on their way to school?
Sheesh, I hate all this maudlin wallowing.
A wonderful celebration of thanks to God for all we have and all we have WORKED for! No one can take that away from us. So, those that want to mourn...go ahead but am sure you won’t mind while we all chow down on the delicious turkey, gravey, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, cranberry, hot buttered corn, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, cookies and candy cause that’s EXACTLY what WE will be doing and enjoying every single second, minute and hour of it. God bless America. Love it or leave it. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
ROFLOL!!!!
Chief Sealth (Seattle is named for him) - was actually a prototype politician.
Seems that when the founding fathers of the little town on the Puget Sound wanted to name the place after Chief Sealth, he resisted. Seems that having a place would cause his spirit to have big trouble after death. But ...for a fee in the here and now - he would be willing to “live” with the problem in the afterlife. (Check out the history of the development of Seattle - “Sons of the Profit” ...makes history fun, because the some of the stories behind the “politically correct” stuff is revealed!

I've NEVER heard anyone say this.
