Really? I live in one of the cities mentioned ... I've also lived southern California, the greater NYC metro area, and Denver, Co. Curious ... are you old enough to drive? Youth can be the only excuse for your ignorance.
As a lifelong resident of the ‘Burgh it bugs me when Pittsburgh is misspelled. Please add the ‘h.’

I'll admit right outfront that I'm a California boy, but I cannot fathom how Minneapolis, and the surrounds, ever became inhabited by humans.
Wifey comes from the area, and her family tends to choose death (and funeral visitations from us) in the dead of winter.

Odd. I’m pushing 50 hard, have moved all over the country...and wouldn’t live in any of those places.
Which is why it is so affordable to live there :-)
The trick to Houston is to live somewhere like Spring (North Houston). All the amenities, less of the problems that big cities have.
I've also lived in Pittsburgh (note, 'h' on the end). As I understand it from relatives still living there - PA has become a joke as far as political corruption. Hard to enjoy life when you feel you're getting shafted every time you turn around. Although if you're weighting sports high, it is hard to beat Pittsburgh - go Steelers! ;-)

I live in a wonderful city in East Texas of about 70 thousand people. You really don’t want to live an ANY city? Only in unincorporated areas?

My wife and I accientally drove through East St. Louis once. The middle of a weekday and the stoops were populated by young black men drinking and glaring at us. Scary place.

We are in Oklahoma City right now, closing on a new home we built for about 1/3 the price tag in Denver. Nice locale for our retirement.
Pretty cheap in rural Alaska; course not some of the urban activities.
No taxes (not even prop taxes), no regulation, no organized govt to grow, and everyone lives more off what the land provides outta necessity.
