The whole agenda of this article is to divide and conquer. It sounds as if you have bitten. That is okay though we all take this content the drive by media at times dishes out as real on occasion. The truth is this is just not true there is no big movement to get respect and blah, blah, blah loads of conservative Christians trying to start a third party to get their way etc. This is just horse hooey and meant to set you off at conservative Christians. Might there be a few out there? Sure. That does not make it real on a larger scale.

DIVIDE AND CONQUER! Do not bite.

Remember the media is generally all fighting for a liberal president here and they are part of the machine to make that happen.

I do respect your frustration and comments, we have a big tent in the GOP. We will all come together on voting day and make sure no liberal candidate gets the presidency. PERIOD. By the way I think they should add another "voters" type vote called "FISCAL VOTERS" where we weigh the candidates on their fiscal policies etc.

As a conservative Christian I like all the ways we evaluate our candidates. The more examination and evaluation the better. The more information in which to make decisions. By the way just because one wins or loses in the Value Voters arena doesn't make them the candidate for a conservative Christian. People just get a sense of how each candidate is viewed in this light. Their are other lights as well. Sometimes one weighs many areas, some weigh just a few. We are all only human after all. :-)

Most social conservatives are also fiscally conservative.

Most fiscal conservatives believe in God and don’t hate Christians.

Personal Responsibility is at the core of both.

Great point and well said. :-)

“The next President will have at least two (2) Supreme Court Nominations, no way anyone who cares about life puts Hillary in charge of selecting who they will be.”

Makes sense. I sincerely hope you’re right.

Will this mean no more compassionate conservatism?

If so I'm all for it.

The next President will have at least two (2) Supreme Court Nominations, no way anyone who cares about life puts Hillary in charge of selecting who they will be.

I predict that with so many Republican senators deciding to retire and with the conservatives' displeasure with the senate's immigration "reform" push, come 2009 the senate will have a solid democrat majority. They will be able to easily block any conservative nominee to the supreme court. Recall how the senate blocked Bork under Reagan and Haynesworth and Carswell under Nixon.

Giuliani is not going to win the nomination. The liberals want him to to be the GOP nominee because they know it is the only way Hillary can win.

Good points. We conservatives have been somewhat left at the post, but I think that our answer should be in holding those elected responsible while remaining united. Too much parity among Dem. and Rep. voters today to try to divide and conquer. Using a vote as a protest can prove to be cold comfort.

I don't see this as war at all. We all fight for a perspective and representation. I think it is good that we are having dialog as a party even if heated etc. At least we are talking and acknowledging different point of view and beliefs at times through these disagreements or debates etc. I love this diversity and I think the debate and push and pull strengthens us all. This is a REAL relationship of strong minded and hearted people. Not the head in the sand, kick 'em out of the party if they do not agree and toe the party line (i.e. Joe Lieberman!!!) of the libs.

There is room for debate and disagreement here.

Come the primaries people will see who is the best candidate to win the presidency and vote them in. SIMPLE!

It is all perspective. I see these disagreements as strengthening us as a party. There will be push and pull for sure. But I am both a fiscal conservative and conservative Christian and believe what is God's is God's and what is Caesar's is Caesar's. It will all flush out in the end. Enjoy the ride. It is entertaining--American Style :-).

“If Hillary wins after a significant third party run by the single issue anti-abortion crowd, I’ll personally enjoy reminding you of every pro-abortion judge Hillary appoints, and every new Planned Parenthood office opened.”

Q: What’s the difference between a Clinton judicial appointment and a Giuliani judicial appointment?

A: Republicans won’t fight Giuliani.

So true tenntch. if you look at the damage that Clinton did thx to Perot WOW! these folks really need to consider what damage they may bring putting Shrillary in office.

"I thought Thompson was going to solve this so-called problem for the GOP."

He didn't give Dobson EVERYTHING he wanted and took a Federalist stance instead of kowtowing to Dr. Dobson, so Dr. Dobson is pushing to screw us all in the interest of idealogical purity (aka short-sightedness)

I agree with you for the most part...

my main point is that Ross Perot was not the reason Clinton won. Clinton won because Pres. Bush did his “read my lips” debacle.

The lesson should not be that the people we elect to should be given the luxury of betraying their voters and still hold our votes. When we blame Perot or his voters instead of Bush- we allow the cycle to continue- to the point where the American people literally have to shut down the lines in DC in order for their elected Reps to hear them and do the will of the people.

Debate is great-— but to blame each other for Republicans losing is ridiculous.

The Republicans have enjoyed the support of a large amount of the Libertarian vote due to the “Contract with America” and the supposed platform of the Republican Party. The folks we sent to DC squandered that support with their out of control spending- and poor handling of the Iraq war.

now it seems we are willing to squander the support of social conservatives as well?

just doesn’t make sense to me.....

I hope we do unite— but the social and fiscal conservatives are going to need to respect each other instead of blaming each other in order to acheive this...
