Why Dr. Dobson's right (a Giuliani nomination would be a disaster)
World Net Daily ^ | October 23, 2007 | Jospeh Farah

And, if Giuliani should, by some twist of fate, win the presidency, it will mean the end of Reaganism. It will represent a turning point in the history of the Republican Party and our nation. It will mean the continued deaths of tens of millions unborn babies when we are closer than ever to defeating the abortion culture that Roe v. Wade initiated in 1973.

Should Giuliani succeed, it will represent the end of any hope for the Republican Party to serve as an alternative to the Democratic Party for millions of people like me and Dr. Dobson. That's bigger than two terms of Hillary Rodham Clinton. That's worse even than four or eight more years in the wilderness.

I actually believe it would be worse for America if Rudy Giuliani were elected president than Hillary Rodham Clinton.

If Hillary wins, the reaction to her predictable overreaching will be similar to what we experienced in 1994 – a "Republican revolution."

If Rudy wins, millions will simply defect from the Republican Party. If you want to see the rise of a third party, just be sure to nominate Giuliani and elect him as president.

The long-term consequences of a Giuliani victory are far worse than the consequences of a Clinton victory.

So let's avoid that dire choice now. There's still time to avoid such an unpleasant scenario. Let's just nominate a Republican the Republican base can support.

(sigh)

Let me state loud and clear that I believe and trust Him. More than you will ever know.

But now we’re getting down to the part of the argument that is impossible to argue. So I won’t.

BUt I do remember this (and let me know if you want to hear the beginning of the story):

G-d: “I sent you two boats and a helicopter. What else do you want?!”

Me: >>How about putting the country's interest ahead of the movement? <<

P-Marlowe: What movement would that be?

P-Marlowe, earlier: It is getting pretty clear that what the conservative movement may need is, in fact, a Hillary presidency.

G-d: “I sent you two boats and a helicopter. What else do you want?!”

I've heard that story (thousands of times).

Let me say with assurance that God would not send us Giuliani to rescue us from Clinton.

If God sends us Giuliani it is because He has decided that we do not deserve to be rescued from Clinton.

I am not willing to sell my soul for political expediency. To vote for Giuliani in order to head off a Clinton presidency would be (for me) to abandon all faith in God.

See #127 and #204 of this thread.

I don't know who is right or who is wrong about Tarshish and it's "young lions", but I intend to run down every primary reference to that passage that googles up when I have the time to spare for that time consuming job. After reading a lot of conflicting opinions on the subject I probably still won't know with certainty much if any more about Tarshish and it's young lions than I do now, which isn't much, but at least it should be interesting.

I thought that you had heard the story, but I didn’t want to be rude in case you, or someone else, hadn’t.

I’m not saying that God has sent us Guiliani to save us from Clinton.

I am saying that we need to exercise our own reason and good judgment, given to us by God, and, we hope, used responsibly.

I am also saying that any thought anyone would have that being passive in the face of crisis would necessarily lead to us being saved by God.

And I am especially saying that none of us know what God’s intentions are, and I would never presume to say so. (And I am not implying that you are. Just that I am not qualfied to do so.)

I know that we will not agree on this point. But I do hope that we have provoked some thoughtful thoughts. Be well and God bless.

We must do the best with what we have, even if it leaves a bad taste in our mouths.

All we're going to get by electing a liberal Republican is what California has gotten -- liberalism advanced by a Republican.

The only chance for any progress in the nation is to elect conservatives to office and give them power to make laws.

Putting a RINO in office delays that possibility for far longer than putting Hillary Clinton in office does. The latter actually paves the way for a conservative revolution.

Oops - major typo. Should be:

I am also saying that any thought anyone would have that being passive in the face of crisis would NOT necessarily lead to us being saved by God.

Giuliani is not our savior.

I do believe that if he is on the ticket, then America is in for a time of judgment.

If Giuliani is our Republican standard bearer, then I would suggest that if you wish to exercise reason and good judgment, then store food and water, buy a generator and a ham radio and pray for mercy.

Those Commands do not apply to me. The law is not made for a righteous man. The only way to be righteous is by faith in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus, not by trying to follow the Ten Commandments.

If you read about the Law the penalty for breaking those laws many times was death (by the way there are hundreds of laws, not just Ten) and God, not me, said that if you break one you break all.

Do you honor the Sabbath day (Saturday) and keep it holy? If not your penalty is death according to God, if you walk trying to follow the Ten Commandments. If you walk by faith in the power that raised Jesus from the dead, believing that you are in a new covenant and Jesus Christ cleanses you from all sin, the laws and penalties do not apply.

By the way, I am not murdering anyone and as far as I know neither is Rudy, however I have a sneaking suspicion Hillary and Bill have both been involved in the murders of political foes and liabilities. Rudy may have even saved the lives of thousands with his approach to crime in NYC. Hillary and Bill are indirectly responsible for the murder of over 3000 people because they didn't take Bin Laden when offered up by the Sudan and it wasn't out of ignorance but out of political self preservation and cowardice. You can also lay the murder of the Branch Davidians and maybe even the Rangers in Somalia at the Clintons feet.

I looked up the stats and abortion went down more under Clinton than Bush 1. I assume that is because our nation may be having a change of heart, defiantly not because Clinton appointed pro- life judges.

You are again wrong.

You are not permitted to murder.

Those commands are wrapped up in the command “love one another as I have loved you.”

Anyone who supports abortion is murdering human beings.

YOU are accountable.

Believe what you want and vote your conscience on election day. Either way, the best way to avoid the choice is to make sure the RINO doesn’t win the nomination. And that my friend can only be accomplished in the primaries.

As Richard Land said in an interview, Asking a conservative to vote for Rudy, “It would be like asking an African-American to choose between Strom Thurmond and George Wallace or asking Abe Lincoln to vote for a pro-slavery candidate. I personally can’t do it.”

No Rep. is making any news on Hannity, Rush or any talk radio show or media ...

It is not for lack of trying on the GOP rep's part, in my view.

As someone who worked in several large newsrooms, I can say categorically that reporters will (subconsciously or consciously) only 'generate' stories that satisy their own personal views. (nothing new to Freepers, I'm sure)

And even if a local newspaper DOES a good relative story, the AP (which is the critical link in pushing a story into the national news) is the WORST liberal killing field for anything that remotely benefits a conservative Republican.

The AP will simply not 'pick up' a story they don't like.

AP reporters, just like employees in any company, try and please their superiors.

Ro 13:9 - The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

1 Timothy 1:5-11 5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. 7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm. 8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me

I guarentee you an African American would vote for Strom Thurmond - if Simon Legree were the alternative.

I’m a conserative and I will vote for Rudy if he is the nominee.

You can thank me for it later if we win.

It’s your vote. You are free to vote for Dr George Tiller, or Sarah Brady, if you wish to.

Just be aware that a primary vote for Rudy is a vote for Hillary in the general election.

"That’s nice, but what are you going to do to see your principles realized? The reality is that Giuliani, or any Republican candidate for that matter, actually has a chance to see the abortion status quo change via judicial appointments. Seeing Hillary elected and her liberal judicial appointments that follow would be a major setback to the pro-life cause. Which would you rather see; a chance at change, or no chance of change? I know what I would take."

=====================================================

You are completely wasting your breath. Principles are not to be rationalized away.
You seem to have no concept of how people with principles operate.

I will live and die on principle. There are things that are worth fighting for, and worth dying over, and worth basing ones life upon. Live free or die, FMCDH etc. etc.

A few posts up you said that social conservatives are acting like children. I beg to differ. Being unmovable on principle even in the face of possible disaster of even death is hardly child like, but is in fact mature adult behavior.

What you are advocating, Christians doing the wrong thing for short term benefit, is exactly like a policy of appeasement.
Appeasing ones enemy accomplishes nothing but emboldens them and the end result is even more of the same.

Taking a hard stand early on and standing on ones principle is the only way to deal with ones enemies.
Even if the short term may hurt, it is well worth it in the long run for those brave enough with a cause worth fighting for.

YOU are accountable.

thats a bold statement, are you a Baptist minister by chance?

You are also then accountable for Hillary not just becoming President but for those who are needlessly killed in war or police action due to her and her husbands actions which purposely go against freedom and liberty and advancing the causes of liberty because they hold high views of Communism and Socialism and want them implemented here in America. Right?
