I thought Thompson did very well. But I can't wait 'til the field narrows to two or three candidates. Gettin' kinda sick of these "Mass Debates".
Sorry... just couldn't help myself!

Actually he is not that old, 64 is younger than some who have run.
I think you missed the subtle /s tag...
I used to note it in my tag...

Once he was in the open Riggo had 4.4 speed and could outrun all but the quickest DBs.

“save for one floundering answer on education.”
His answer was dead on in my estimation. Gutsy, accurate and exactly where I stand on the issue.

Except for one enormous distinction; Barney Fife was allowed to carry a bullet for his gun. LOL! He also had Sheriff Taylor to back him up when he got in over his head!

I was hoping to see Fred step up and he did last night, but when I learned he voted with the trial lawyers and against the doctors he lost my vote. I can’t support a candidate who supports legalized extortion.

>> He reminds me of John Riggins
GREAT analogy!
Man, I miss players like John Riggins...
Does the NFL even have such a player anymore?

What I saw Fred had an excellent night. His last line was something Reagan would come up with. Nailed all his critics with 1 line.

Ron Paul hit the nail on the head for medical insurance and the problems everyone is encountering (docs and patients). Hes shrill and Id have to put cotton in my ears through every State of the Union address, and he sounds like the village idiot on other issues BUT HES OUR IDIOT and the first guy who takes a shot at him will have to duck my ire.1. It'd be the shortest State of the Union address; "I BELIEEEEEEVE!!!"
2. It's somehow refreshing to know that some of us on FR are willing to vote for a man, not because he's the village idiot, but because he's OUR IDIOT! That's really Kool (in an 'Aid' sort of way) :)
3. Ire away! I need a laugh.

Several of the candidates did really well last night, better than I’ve seen them before [like McCain]. Made good points. Rudy sounded likeable and joked, but he did not answer a direct question.
I prefer to think who helped themselves, and who didn’t help themselves, rather than think who won or didn’t win.
I support Fred and am enthused at how he did, but it was good to hear some good points from some of the other candidates. It seemed that a lot of it was centered around things Fred has been saying on the campaign trail, which was good. He framed the debate.

Of course he came off better last night.. he died
on the vine the first time out. But I have to
tell you, I’m getting pretty tired of hearing
him iterate the resume of his work ethic.
None of the other candidates are going back
45 years to fill us in on a teen-age marriage
and fatherhood. NTL, I’m willing to give
him the boot-strap education/ambition. And,
if the powers that be decide he’s the GOP
candidate, I’ll vote for him. But then, I’ll
vote for any Republican other than McCain
or Paul.
