UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

Thank you, BBG... and, Good Morning to you...:o)
He got out of there quickly—that fire just popped up right next to him, where it had been a bit further away.
More evacuations and new fires
As temperatures and winds again rise, officials say containment of major blazes is days away at the earliest. An estimated 1,000 homes have been lost in San Diego County.
Thanks...That’s the same I got...It doesn’t really say if it’s closed at the bottom of the hill...
Have family in a motor home at a park at the bottom, not far from Highland....
They bailed out yesterday morning, from the Crestline area, but were not real close to the arrowhead fire...Now they are stuck, sitting at a park...Possibly wilderness park at the bottom of the hill.
I would have never evacuated if I were them...Of course it was their call...But now I don’t think they can get back up and will probably be stuck for who knows how long.
Thanks.
It happened so quickly. There sure seemed to be a lot of small fires along that road that they were going to have to use to get out of the area.
Once again, thank You God, that the trapped firefighters got out alive and not badly injured.... Thank You!!
There sure is a lot of conflicting info about what the winds are doing — I guess that’s the nature of the Santa Anas and depends on exact location.
KUSI 9: 325000 (three hundred twenty five thousand) homes have been evacuated. If you multiply that by a minimm of 2 people per househould, we are looking at about 3/4 of a million people evacuated.....probably closer to a million + people.
Is this a new fire?
