UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

“You have FRiends here”.
That is the truth! Please see his plea, here:

Kim, prayers going up for your relatives. May they be safe, and surrounded with His protective care.
Unbelievable. Nightline is interviewing a weatherman in Georgia about weather here in Los Angeles. The weatherman works for the Weather Channel but lives and works in Georgia.
He says “we are getting...” “we had wind gusts...” as if he is actually here in Los Angeles.
Hey, Terry Moran. Los Angeles has its own meterologists. Right here in Los Angeles.
It’s like going to National News piped out of New York to hear about breaking news in L.A. as they do every single day on KNX AM Radio. Radio has a slimmer budget than television.
Cheap, penny-wise and dollar foolish stunt for a national television broadcast.
Does anyone know who might have coverage live right now?
Thanks
where is that noted? What part of Da Luz?
A friend has a home in Fallbrook on a hill overlooking the Fallbrook golf course and I wondered how their house could be doing.
Looks like everyone is exhausted. Some of the local TV stations will be live at 4 am pst. Gonna get some sleep.
Thanks Janet. I will turn on KNX now.
Some of the cable news channels show it off and on.
They were reporting winds have slowed down to 28 MPH in many places which is less than what they were.

found this live scanner for Santa Clarita. Not sure how much info I will get on it though...
THanks.
we’re noticing new flames off in the distance from our house in south Orange County. They appear to be located east of Ladera Ranch. Any words on this fire?
Thanks for asking.
Nothing concrete on my home. Roof lines in part of the condo area were seen many many hours ago (a good sign, obviously). Then flames were on the hill in front of it a few hours after that. And no news since. I’m more hopeful than I was 12 hours ago, but still not overly optimistic. Especially b/c things are still changing drastically and what was safe an hour ago is suddenly engulfed minutes later as things have been going. Honestly, even if I hear tomorrow it’s standing, I won’t ::really:: rejoice until later in the week when the winds calm down.
But I, and my family and friends, are all safe. We’ve had A LOT of losses of homes and things...but that’s just stuff. The people are all safe! Praise God!

Yes! Thank you for the up-date. We will continue praying. I’ve been thinking about you all day, today. I’m so glad you are safe.

off and on live shots of large fire approaching eastern Chula Vista in southern SD county
I live in the next city over. Check www.nctimes.com. Fallbrook is completely evacuated. It doesn’t sound good from the reports. Even scarier is that the fire is going into the direction of Pendleton. Munitions and fire don’t mix. Please keep prayers up for us all in North County.
