One must admit, it does have the signatures of 41(?) U.S. Senators on it . . . giving it some real value. How many other documents of this kind are ever put-up for auction? I honestly don’t know.

Don't hold your breath. They don't give a crap about Marines or any other military people. Most likely, if the price goes much higher, they will sue for their share of the proceeds.
I think we should all write or phone the signatories and ask if they plan to match the bid as Rush has pledged to do, and if not, why not?

That the price will entirely go to charity is probably a big skewing factor. Anyone prone to six digit donations anyway would be delighted to score a historic document, autographer’s delight, and publicized notariety in the process.
