It unfuriates me to read this trash. Seriously, it’s one of the cheapest shots I’ve seen.

Thompson was anxious to run this investigation, but let’s be clear, what was he up against? He was up against the Clinton machine. He was up against the likes of John Glenn running interference on Clinton’s behalf. There were a number of other Senators that also treated this like a high school pep rally for Clinton.

That’s not the worst of it. The same Senate leadership wouldn’t help Thompson at all. He was expected to run this whole damn show, and if he got to energetic, he’d be told to tone it down.

In a similar setting, Michael Chertoff (attorney for the Republicans) was slapped down in Whitewater hearings. He was livid as Republicans would interrupt to slow his progress in questioning the witnesses.

This being said, what possible investigation can you execute when over 100 different people with intimate knowledge fled the country rather than testify? Were they forbidden to leave the nation? No.

Thompson got bitch-slapped on this one, and the leadership of his own side of the isle was of no help whatsoever. He was set up as the patsey and he didn’t know better than to agree to try to get to the bottom of the situation.

I rememeber him walking out of those hearings angry as could be at the situation.

To trash him now, is so inexcusable I’d love to punch this bastard in the nose.

I watched those hearings regarding the fund-raising and the DemocRATS just stopped everything. Witness after witness refused to testify...fled the country (probably on the orders of the Clintons), and took the 5th. This same group of fund-raisers is working for Hillary right now. She was already forced to return over $800,000. Hillary represents a group of people that should not be able give her $27 Million. Where did she get all those millions? Where are all the contributors? Anyone asking?

This kind of post is absurd and stupid. What are you all scared of? Fred is up front about his plans for the future, up front about his possible health problems, up front about everything. What more could you ask for? Fred will be the Republican candidate...come on aboard...work with a winner!!!
