But they still don't answer the history-changing, 10 quadrillion dollar question: how do species evolve?

Makes you kind of wonder about the accuracy of any gene sequencing....

Anyone who has met my ex mother-in-law would know that the Neanderthal species is still alive

Or the results didn’t match what they wanted to find.

Not really. The older you go the more difficult it gets.

Living individuals are easy.

What, no GEICO cavemen pictures??

That show is pretty funny BTW. I was surprised at how lowkey the humor is and very very dry wit. But some really funny references/jokes for thirty something’s.

Were Neanderthals direct ancestors of contemporary humans or an evolutionary side branch that eventually died out?

“What, no GEICO cavemen pictures??”

A picture of Harry Reid would convince me that Neaderthals still roam the globe

and with a big smile...
The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve
Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

Not really. I used to work in a DNA sequencing lab. You're not going to contaminate the sample unless you're pretty sloppy.

Thanks Blam. Of course, the myth that a study was done showing Neandertal is an extinct cousin will persist.

Oh Yeah...I keep seeing vestigial neanderthals all the time too.

They are with us.

"how"? Through metaphysically induced dysplasia and hygeraphobia.

It's all intuitively obvious.

Now, sit down and be good. The Creos only claim the last 6500 years, if that, and all the rest of time is left to the Evos.

The Evos are working on the answer. The Creos are not concerned.
