...And the Nobel Peace Prize goes to...(vanity)
10/11/07

"I might not win the Nobel Prize, but they can never take this nomination away from me. And after the last ten days, folks, I should be the recipient of the Medal of Congressional Distraction."-Rush Limbaugh

By this time tomorrow, Peace - Friday, October 12, 11:00 a.m. CET - we'll know who has won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Will it be Al Gore, who has mysteriously been called out of the country (standing up Barbara Boxer and others) or conservative talk radio favorite Rush Limbaugh, who mysteriously is not on the air today? Yes, I know he's in Phillie, but can't he have a plane in waiting that can take him over to Sweden if/WHEN he needs to go? :-) And of course, here's Rush's promise to a caller earlier this week:

"If I win the Nobel Prize, I promise to run for president."

Whoa. Can't you hear liberal heads exploding just THINKING about such a thing? :-)

Of course, we don't know who else has been nominated, because it's all supposed to be a hush-hush process, but if Jimmy Carter wins again, I'm writing off the Nobels! They're already on thin ice with me after *that* little incident meant to be a slap in the face to President Bush.

Seriously, if Rush won, I would hope he’d decline it. I wouldn’t want to see him lumped in with the likes of Arafat and that doofus hillbilly Jimmy Carter.

Hubris on Gore’s part. Even if he did win (in which case, Mugabe will win next year) the ceremony and therefore the need for a departure to Sweden, isn’t until December or so.

I seriously doubt that Rush is being considered at all. This is a sham organization that is only interested in rewarding Liberal Excellence.

(Hence the need for Mugabe to win next year.)

If Rush won, I would hope he’d accept it, donors the money to good conservative causes (dunno... some pro-life or pro-troops fund) and tosses the medal on the steps of Congress.

I figured Kim Jong Il had a lock on the Nobel PP this year.

Only on thin ice? I wrote them off years ago.

Could this be the catalyst that would cause old Al to jump into the Presidential race?

If Al Gore wins, and I had been a previous winner, I’d throw mine in the garbage where it belongs.

Algore is out of the country because he is under the mistaken impression you have to be present to win.

The idiot.

This is a sham organization that is only interested in rewarding Liberal Excellence.

you are too kind with your words. The Nobel Committee is a bunch of rabid anti-Capitalistic leftists. You can be certain the nut case Gore will win. It will allow the MSM to fawn over him and give him another platform to spew his evil lies.

At this point, I’d consider a Nobel Peace Prize an insult.

The first criterion for winning the Doofus Peace Prize is that the nominee must be an avowed commie and/or a certified dictator.

It is my understanding that the Nobel family has broken all ties with the Nobel Foundation, and refuses to have anything to do with them. Adolf Hitler and Josef Mengele would be prized candidates by today’s Nobel standards.

Gore 2008... god help us. We’d all be forced to drive electric golf-carts and be taxed for our carbon footprint.

Maybe he could win a Nobel Fiction Prize for the incoherent truth.
