Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

You posted;
‘Ann needs to lay off the meth, the crank...the eightballs. The girls gotta screw loose.’
Yet your profile page says;
‘I want to maintain the family tradition of participating in a forum that encourages conservative values. ‘
Seems a contradiction....
I don’t know this guy, Deutsch, but Ann invited him to church. I don’t know what tradition of Jewish religion he’s from, but he, being a liberal, was evidently upset and intended to milk this comment for all it was worth. Nothing was going to stop him, because of politics, not because of religion......
the MSM has no problem saying that Judaism is primitive and stupid (G-d forbid) because they believe that all religions are primitive and stupid.
What they have a problem with is the idea that religion can be used as something you can use in a debate on any matter.
Another story brought to you by Media Matters...
Someone(s) in the MSM is/are trying to take Ann Coulter out of the picture, to remove her from the public forum before the 2008 election.
Cheap distortions and leading questions are nothing new.
Now, knowing that Bill and Hillary and the Media have been in cahoots since the ‘good ol’ days’ of Arkansas, who do you think might want Ann out of the picture?
Sure would save the Clintons a load of embarassment, now wouldn’t it?
Everyone who looks at this story will read into it whatever they want to. If the headline did its job, they might not even read the story, just go ballistic.
We are all grown-ups here, so let’s not go off half-cocked.
Read post 96. I'll post some of it again. She's clearly stating the country would be a better place if it were all Christian, and tying the Republican Party to that statement. Calling for a boycott is over the top, but this is a no brainer for any Dem candidate or operative to jump on.
------------
COULTER: It would look like New York City during the Republican National Convention. In fact, that's what I think heaven is going to look like.
--------
COULTER: Well, OK, take the Republican National Convention. People were happy. They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America, they --
DEUTSCH: Christian -- so we should be Christian? It would be better if we were all Christian?
COULTER: Yes.
DEUTSCH: We should all be Christian?
COULTER: Yes. Would you like to come to church with me, Donny?
DEUTSCH: So I should not be a Jew, I should be a Christian, and this would be a better place?
COULTER: Well, you could be a practicing Jew, but you're not.
DEUTSCH: I actually am. That's not true. I really am. But -- so we would be better if we were - if people -- if there were no Jews, no Buddhists --
---
COULTER: But yeah, I think that's reflective of what's going on in the culture, but it is completely striking that at these huge megachurches -- the idea that, you know, the more Christian you are, the less tolerant you would be is preposterous.
DEUTSCH: That isn't what I said, but you said I should not -- we should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians, then, or --
COULTER: Yeah.
Wondering?
What statement could she have made or could anyone make to move the "Leftist Jews" from their position?
Curious?
peace
LOL!
Yep, helped bust more than one lab, fixed or mobile, in my time.
I’m also familiar with 18 year olds that talk trash in internet forums. To suggest Coulter is on ‘meth’ or any other illicit drug, especially in a conservative forum, is very similiar to a young kid playing with daddy’s CB in the driveway, taunting truckers.
And I say this after ripping her for comments in this weeks column here at FR.
Assigning illegal drug use to one of the stalwarts of the conservative cause is something we usually see at DU, or LP, or at the midget’s site dailykos.
Not here. Its a ‘tradition’ if that helps you understand what I’m saying.
Only if you're a guy........
ROTFLMBO!!!
Now you know why Jews vote Democratic!
He didn't have to look very far, she was offensive.
I've often read that Coulter knows exactly what she's doing and does it for money, but I think it's the media that's being calculating here. Ann's just being honest (we can't have that!), and she's no more shocking than many commentators out there. But it's a game now -- using Ann Coulter to make a name for yourself.
I agree that Ann knows exactly what she's doing, however I don't think the media is being calculating. They're repeating her comments. Which were offensive, my guess intentionally, and which I doubt she believes, but which will garner publicity for her and her book.
My point earlier, and during the faggot controversy, was that the Republican Party should distance themselves from her. She's not an asset.
I am a Christian before I am a Republican or conservative..and there is nothing that Ann said that isn’t true and the core of our faith.. Jesus said “none will come to the Father but through me”.. either you believe or you don’t..there is no gray area in the Bible that says there is any other way. If you consider the absolute truth idiotic or stupid, then that’s pretty sad.
Oh, please!
One of my high school classmates, who was a Bar Mitzvah at the same synagogue as I was, supposedly was a close friend of Ann's. She dedicated one of her books to him (among others).

What? Nowhere does his transcript quote her using those "exact words" "out of [her] mouth."
His transcript is wrong or, more likely, he's lying.
This will be every bit as effective as James Bakers admonition to *uck the American Jews, they don't vote for us anyway. I freely admit to being one of the the 36% of American Jews who voted for Bush I in 1988, and of the 11% who did in 1992. But you know what, that 25% loss, after the Secretary of State told them to *uck themselves, I don't blame them.
Now you're telling me that Ann's admonition that the country will be better off with no Jews, only Christians, and her suggestion that the Republican Party is Christion will sway Jews away from the Democrat Party?
You must be kidding.
Actually, I don’t know if I can even say “his transcript.” I don’t know who produced it.
I should have said “that transcript.”
