There are two kinds of crooks. The first cuts a deal. He tells the government what he knows and forever after is ostracized and hunted by his old partners in crime. The second is stand-up. He keeps his mouth shut. After serving his time, he is welcomed back into the fold. He might even get a bump up in rank from his grateful bosses.
No, were not talking about The Sopranos. What we have in mind is a new episode of a tawdry soap opera that began in the 1990s. Welcome to the case of disgraced former national security adviser Sandy Berger and what it portends about a potential President Hillary.
Now Berger is back in business at Camp Clinton, advising New Yorks junior senator in her bid for the White House. This warrants a review of Bergers recent history. After his stint as national security adviser, he became Bill Clintons liaison to the 9/11 Commission as it investigated intelligence failures (many of which happened on Bergers watch). Berger was accordingly given access to the national archives, both to prepare his own testimony and to get the former president ready for an interview with the commission.
Berger used his privileged access to steal top-secret national-defense documents. On at least two occasions he stuffed them into his clothing and briefcase, smuggling them out of the archives. He secreted some of these stolen papers under the wheel of a truck at a nearby construction site so that he could return for them later. Other documents he intentionally destroyed. These actions were serious felonies.

Burglar DESTROYED Original Documents that pertained to what Clinton did about TERROR and TERRORISTS!! Now just WHAT was that???? The Archives Director called BRUCE LINDSEY instead of the COPS or the FBI!!
In the democrat arena to move up....”f” ..up.
What particularly galls me is that the only real information about exactly what was stolen or what the documents contained comes from Berger himself, and yet people find it credible. A man goes through a great deal of trouble to illegally destroy documents, and yet when he says they were "unimportant copies" that's accepted on faith? The "unimportance" of the documents would seem inconsistent with his efforts to destroy them.
Demo-Rats are like an offensive front line in football. They never get blamed for anything.
“No, were not talking about The Sopranos.”
We’re talking about a much more tawdry group, the Clintoons.
I have a hard time believing that no one at the National Archives was assisting the effort. The documents were uninventoried and no backup copies were made. That is suspicious too.
On my last visit there, most of the exhibit explanations had liberal stings to them similar to those at the Smithsonian.
Lets not forget whose DOJ “prosecuted” this case.....
I have this funny feeling that the stinking felon KEPT ALL THE DOCUMENTS and has BLACKMAILED her thighness into giving him a job . . . or he’ll tell all.
The whole thing stinks. I feel there’s extortion going on, huh?
Interesting..
What’s criminal to me is how this administration let Sandy Berger slide with barely a slap on the wrist.
Everything about the Berger crimes piss me off. But especially that the DOJ let him skate.
After 9-11, Americans deserve much better leadership then this.
What do you want to bet that if Hillary gets elected, Sandy will commit suicide? (Or that’s how it will read in the media.) He’s only with her now so he’ll keep his mouth shut. Actually, I’m surprised he’s still alive.
Seems you have to be an illegal alien or a Democrat criminal to get a break of any kind from the Bush administration.
Just ask a couple of Border Patrol Agents.
Somebody at the National Archives had to be involved also.
“Lets not forget whose DOJ prosecuted this case.....”
Let’s also not forget that this Administration was threatened with impeachment, because he fired US Attorneys that refused to prosecute this and other dim related crimes.
LLS
Weren't there Repubs that were supposed to get answers for this and push for the lie detector test?
