There is no doubt that Ron Paul has struck a chord with disenfrachised voters who are sick of both parties.

Sick of the religious right who want to club you over the head with a bible at the first opportunity.

Sick of Marxist/Socialist Dims who want to take your money, tobacco, booze, cookies for the greater good.

He has a constituency and a loyal following. It’s not just the war. If people were just looking for anti war candidates they could find plenty in the Dim field.

That’s why I want to see him run on the LP ticket. It will do a couple of beneficial things. It will siphon anti war votes from Hillary AND it will force the Big Gubmint GOP types to have to pay attention to the libertarian portion of their base for a change.

“Passion” means everything, you didn’t know that??

In hindsight, I bet Hillary wishes Bill's 'passion' was focused on more Presidential things.

Lol, I am not sure what debate you were watching but I certainly didn’t see that. Thompson’s answers were ok but untill he got to the jokes at the end he had zero personality and spoke in a boring and almost monotone manner. He also stumbled a lot in answering his questions.

If Ron Paul has so much support, I expect to see a third party run after he loses the Republican primaries.

Why do you expect that? He has already said "No" on several occasions.

>> Since Nixon Kennedy the candidate who came off best on TV has won.

Perhaps ... but I’ve never seen anyone say Thompson lacked charisma, just that he lacks “passion” ... which I guess means that he doesn’t come off as a fire-and-brimstone Presidential candidate like Keyes or Paul - shouting and slamming his fists against the podium.

Put Thompson up against Hillary ... who’ll come off as likeable on TV? Who’ll come off as a screeching howler monkey?

Thompson’s so likeable on TV, that TV-people have paid him to be on TV.

If Ron Paul spammed the poll why arenÂ’t we spamming right back?

I’m not a computer geek who has the time or knowledge on deleting cookies ad nauseum.

Fred has a habit of pulling on his nose. It drives me crazy.

If he really is an actor, he should be able to control it. I don't think that he is an actor, though. He played himself in his first movie and then a similar character on L and O. I am glad that he was able to pep up his slow talking a bit today.

He lost weight in the run up to declaring his candidacy. Too bad he didn't slip in a little skin tightening. He looks older than McCain, which he is not.

"Why don’t you slip over to the daily Kos where you belong?"

I know you're new here, but please try to not get into a personal battle you can't win.

For you DuncanDonuts, get real. You're pick has zero electability, and you need to get a grip on that.

I've been here since nearly the beginning, and I've seen "Freepers" come and go.

Those who can't stand disagreement don't survive.

Too bad. All the Thompson-bashing posts you've made (100's) and the ping DH posts (100's) mean nothing to the reality that DH has no chance of winning the nomination, and even if nominated, would not carry 35% nationwide in a National election in the best case (based on my personal observations of his appeal). He has no charisma or connection to the average non-committed voter in the street.

Now, myself, I don't get too personally offended or stubborn that I wouldn't vote in '08 for whomever is the Republican nominee (even if it is a clothespin-necessity), just as it was in 2006 for the Senate and Congressional RINO's.

I doubt you could let go with your obsession with DH, and would rather sit out and let the Hildabeast win by not voting for Thompson (unless DH was his VP candidate).

Your post is pitiful. Fawn didn't say, "I am coming to the conclusion fred is a bore," someone else did. We wouldn't know that from your post.

How ironic, isn't that were Fred Thompson announced his intent to run for President?
Could you translate this into English, please?

The country can have an economic downturn without it going into a full blown recession.

But if 80% of the people want him, wouldn’t there be a massive grass roots effort to have him run?

He said tonight he wouldn’t support anyone who won’t pull the troops out immediately.

That means either he supports Obama or he runs himself. If you’re so determined to have him win, wouldn’t you support his running as an independent?

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

If DH is such a non-starter, why so much effort aimed at keeping him down?

I thought TThompson was a non-starter and never felt it necessary to spam his followers nor become a provocateur on his threads.

How about simply traditional1’s favorite post of the beating of the dead horse? Or the fact that Hunter was left out of the poll results so that folks could not vote for him. That’ll do for a start.
