gravitas is often mistaken for lack of enthusiasm...i'm still not convinced Thompson has the former and not the latter.

I'll keep an open mind to see if anything changes...but I didn't see any passion from Thompson. Federalism isn't the most exciting thing, but one can still be passionate about it.

It didn’t seem to me the time was equally spread
amongst the candidates. Anyone else feel the same?

To be fair to Fred, this is his first debate. He’s a little rusty, having missed the first five.

I’m already looking forward to the next one!

SO YOU guys, get ready for a Ross PEERot Wannabe Repeat by the Libertarians very own, Ron Paul.

Calm down...the Congressman has already stated he will NOT run 'third party'...if Hillary wins; it won't be because Paul ran 'third party'.

Yeah, they not only are not only devioius enough to delete cookies, they were even were able to counterfeit five million dollars to give to Paul! After all, how could mere computer geeks in basements generate that kind of money.

I didn’t keep a clock, but I’d bet Crissy’s pal Rudy got the most air time.

But, yes,I also thought the time was unequally distributed.

Again. But we just have to accept it and keep working.

I am coming to the conclusion fred is a bore.

IF you want to be entertained...turn on Jay Leno.

I love both Thompson and Cheney and wish the world was such that they'd be a shoe-in for president, but Thompson seems to be just slightly more captivating.

The democratic part of our representational system requires appealing to voters. That starts with holding their attention.

Maybe a debate isn't Thompson's format. I enjoyed his video rebut of Michael Moore and I enjoy his essays. I'll keep an open mind by that's my take so far.

I think Rudy and Mitt both did quite well. I’d give a slight nod to Rudy. McCain scored well too. Fred did OK.

The other 5 really don’t count.

Well, yeah, but then again the other candidates would have been rusty at the 1st debate at the Reagan Library, and candidates like Romney and Hunter (which clinched Duncan for me) showed what good debaters they were. :-)

He isn’t getting traction because the DC and MSM elites cannot LET him “get traction” ...

***So how can we combat this? It may be the dinosaur media, but they’re still the dominant species on this political planet until an asteroid hits.

It never is spread equally- but I think Chrissy was so focused on trying to appear fair that he wasn’t paying attention. As to Maria - pffttt...

I wasn’t impressed with the questions- but then again- they’ve all (both sides) had the same questions asked over and over- they can’t actually debate- it’s all sound bites.

The best TV debate I’ve seen (since I was a kid and my grandmother made me watch Willim F Buckley and John Kenneth Galbraith debate on PBS) in recent years was the one with Cheney and Lieberman. They sat down at a table and talked about ideas, issues and policies- it was excellent.

Well, if Ron Paul has the support of 80% of the nation, he ought to run third-party and win by a landslide. ;-)
