That’s kicking the can down the road. It won’t work for long and just makes the solution that much harder. The problem is that no candidate can talk frankly about the subject because the Dems and AARP will demigog and frighten voters. The Dem solution is to raise/remove the earning cap despite the fact that the cap goes up every year.

Asking Jules to sing...we know he likes to dance and play dress up.

Would Hillary be asked the same? How about Huessein?

Oh, great. Now Romney is recognizing Global Warming. What a nightmare.

That's nothing new -- Romney was big on fighting the global warming "problem" as governor.

.. having said that Ron Paul is a NUT...

In years past, I have stood and cheered for Ron Paul when he's made some perfect points on the floor of the House. He's the house version of Senator Byrd and should just stay there and do his thing until he's too old and shaky to crawl in. He's just not consistent. Why does he hook up with the likes of these people, the only candidate to sign their pledge, represented by leftie groups like:

Liberty Coalition Partners include [snip]:

Muslim Public Affairs Council

MoveOn.org Political Action

People for the American Way

National Iranian American Council

VelvetRevolution.us

Democrats.com

Common Cause

Amnesty International

AFA will also offer a Presidential Pledge to all 2008 hopefuls. By signing the pledge, candidates commit themselves to implement the ten point plan if elected. Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) attended the kick-off event and became the first candidate to sign the American Freedom Agenda Pledge.

He’s still better than Rudy or Mitt on that, although I do not like his nanny statism either.

it’s scorch & burn politics. Ron Paul is a colossus of Constitutional principle yet has been tarred and feathered here...all for a principled foreign policy disagreement.

Talk about fake, they all blew it on the union question IMHO!, Unions have screwed this country over and created a vast third world army that took all our jobs.

Anyone who thinks unions, especially public service unions, are good for America needs to take a visit to upstate New York.

I joined this site because the name Free Republic sounded right. Now during this debate someone like Ron Paul is scorned upon. Instead politicians who are globalist, lobbiests, and members of the CFR are cheered. Open your mind.

Some people's head's would explode if they actually had to form a consistent and coherent political philosophy that recognizes a level of intelligent debate regarding certain issues on which conservatives and libertarians can disagree. It's much easier for them to grasp this: pro war=conservative / anti-war=liberal

I think he is doing quite well. I liked his answer about Islamofascists trying to take down Western Civilization and the U.S.

Message for President Mitt: Your lawyer called to tell you whether you can bomb Iran nuke plant or not.

When the blogs get hold of this soundbite, Mitt will be the one hit out of the park.

Duncan wasn’t pandering to unions, Duncan was saying the Republican Party should go after “Reagan Democrats”.

He’s right!
