"If he wants to call up and apologize again, that's ok with me. But I'm not going to dance to anybody's tune."

That's my guy.

I certainly will vote for Thompson should he be the nominee. I will vote for whomever the Party chooses to run because to not vote and hand the WH to the liberals is unthinkable.

I am a Christian, but I am getting sick and tired of the Dobsons and Robertsons of this world thinking they can speak for me. They are becoming the Jesse Jacksons of the so-called Christian right and they often let their perceived power go to their head.

Good for Thompson. Makes me like him even more.

I want a leader who is fiscally conservative, has moral convictions, believes in small government and the rights of the individual, believes in the strength of the constitution, etc.

I am not voting by "is he Christian enough?".

Hannity then asked: "Would you want to have a conversation with Dr. Dobson? Do you think that might help?"

Was that the hardest hitting question posed to Fred last night? I missed the show.

Contrast and compare the dims response to the odious moron.org advert.

I’d heard about the “not a Christian” thing, but I guess I missed the news when this second slam against Thompson came out. Would someone please clue me in? What was it, anyway, that Dobson said against Thompson?

Ah! I see you’ve changed the headline, Nevill72. That’s what confused me.

Fred didn’t say, “Take a hike.” And the headline writer didn’t write, “Take a hike.”

Looks like you’re wanting to pile on to Dobson like the rest of the MSM.

This is a strange time, when a decent Christian man like Dobson is misrepresented and demonized. Stranger yet that it’s happening on FR....

Good for Thompson.

James Dobson does for conservatives what Al Shaprton does for african americans.

I think this is a great response, but I do question if Rudy or Mitt would get the same Kudos if they said the same thing?

"But I'm not going dance to anybody's tune."

Not a particularly diplomatic response for one wishing the votes of as many as possible and certainly not one to use on a fellow conservative Republican.

One wonders if Fred might have treated a member of the Log Cabin Republicans thus.

A more polite answer might have been phrased as, "I'm sure if Dr.Dobson and I were to have a personal conversation, we would agree on far more than we disagree."

Great response to this guy that wants to be Jerry Falwell, circa 1986.

Here’s the link to the interview where Dobson said Fred Thompson was not a real Christian.

I have no idea. I don't particularly care to have a conversation with him. If he wants to call up and apologize again, that's ok with me. But I'm not going to dance to anybody's tune.

That's gonna leave a mark.

A gentleman who has never met me, who has never talked to me, I've never talked to him on the phone. I did have one of his aides call me up and kind of apologize, the first time he attacked me and said I wasn't a Christian…

Real classy there, Dobson. I think Fred's response is appropriate under the circumstances. If Dobson wants to extend an olive branch, I'm sure Fred would rethink his stance.

Dobson certainly has the right to his opinion as well as a right to express it. My Mom used to remind me frequently that being ‘right’ is not the same as doing the ‘right thing’ and this is a perfect example of what she meant!

Satan must be delighted with how Rev. Dobson got a real case of hummin’-gator (that’s when you let your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird ass!). It’s statements like this, made in this holier-than-thou tone, that make Christians such and easy target for Lefties.

I admire Rev. Dobson, but he needs to understand that along with is widespread recognition comes a large dose of responsibility to use that recognition in a way that builds up, not tears down, the Christian faith.

I don’t know if Fred Thompson is a Christian or not. I know for a fact that if Mitt Romney is the Mormon they say he is that he is not a Christian in the same way Billy Graham is a Christian, or the Pope is a Christian.

Frankly, where Fred Thompson will spend eternity is of little consequence to me when it comes to my support of him for office. On a personal level I am VERY concerned about where he will spend eternity, as I am about any human being, but in my opinion it’s not a matter that Rev. Dobson should be addressing.

I like Sen. Thompson.

I like Dr. Dobson.

But Dr. Dobson has acted poorly towards Sen. Thompson. I still like the guy, but I’m still going to vote for Sen. Thompson.

Fred (or Duncan Hunter) is my choice — a Thompson/Hunter ticket would be best case for 2008.

However, Thompson might want to go easy on the justifiably discontent Conservative Christians that have been a part of the Republican coalition for 30 years. If he pushes them out, HE will be the reason we have a President Hillary — NOT Conservative Christians.
