MANCHESTER, N.H. Facing a barrage of questions about his appeal to conservative voters, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani claimed Wednesday that religious conservatives will embrace him because at least they know where he stands.
...Giulianis claim about his appeal to religious conservatives includes the implicit acknowledgment that he is not one of them. And that points to Giulianis dilemma in trying to appeal to the Republican Partys base without drawing fire for pandering.
Indeed, Giuliani refused to accept the label of effectively pro-life, which is how a key supporter, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas), referred to the former mayor in an interview this week with CBNs David Brody.
Asked if he embraces that label, Giuliani chuckled and said: No. I think Ive explained my position on that about as clearly as I can, about as often as I can. If people want to put labels on it, they can put labels on it.
Giulianis remarks followed threats by several prominent social conservatives to support a third-party candidate if he wins the Republican presidential nomination.
Maybe people of faith can respect someone whos honest with them, Giuliani said as a huge crush of reporters jostled for position with their microphones and tape recorders. With me, you know what youre going to get. I mean, I explain to you who I am. I tell you who I am. You can figure out the areas you agree, the areas you disagree. Its not like five different positions on every issue.

LOL!!!
Slander? Let's take a look at that, shall we? Excerpt from a prior post:
Giuliani had radioactive seed implantation on September 15, 2000 and was up on his feet in a day. There was no chemo. He missed a day or two of work and within a week he had marched in a parade, presided over a town hall-style meeting, gone on the stump for Lazio, and conducted daily press conferences, including one pushing a $1 Billion taxpayer subsidized stadium in Manhattan's West Side after holding meetings with both the Yankees and Jets owners that week.Back in May, 2000, when he dropped out a mere 11 days before the State Convention where he was to be nominated, leaving the GOP high and dry (with no other choice but to recruit Lazio), the doctors said they thought campaigning was perfectly within his physical capabilities and, if he started treatment right way, he would have recovered and been "full speed" by the time the campaign normally kicked in. Instead, he delayed that procedure until September. Heck, my father, at 80 years old, went through this hardly missing a beat.
Not this one.
Heh heh..."Rudith"
He is neither my first choice, nor my second choice, nor my third choice.... But, let’s be candid here, folks: If it’s between Rudy and ANY of the Dims running (especially if it’s PIAPS or B. Hussein: and I only mention those two because none of the others stand any chance whatever of getting the Dim nomination), what are you going to do on election day? America will face an existential moment if any of the Dims wins the election, and the chances of America surviving that moment — if one of the Dims should win — are pretty much near zero.
OK, after reading this thread, I’m outta here. You people couldn’t be more unattractive.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Is he talking about theological liberalism and liberation theolocy or Christianty. HUUUMMMMMMM!!!
Vote 3rd party

Bull manure. America survived 8 years of Bill, it can certainly survive 4 years of Hillary (2 years because a newly-revitalized GOP will win back Congress in 2010).
A vote for Giuliani is worse than a vote for Hitlery. At least with Hitlery the Pubbies will fight her when she tries to ban our guns, outlaw Chritianity in public and suppress dissident speech, whereas when Giuliani comes after our guns and pushes abortion everywhere, the GOP won’t fight him, as he’ll be “one of us.”
Ed
Better title, Giuliani claims support of those who claim to be Christian.
The so-called Religious Left will not support Giuliani. Why settle for RINO when you can have the real thing in Hillary. Also, the Left is informing people that Giluiani “tortured” Blacks, the poor, and teachers.
"Though I am 100% against Giuliani, I am tired of hearing this slander. The man had cancer.

Thank you.
"Health" was derided as a flimsy excuse at the time. Truth is he ran from a fight because he didn't think he could win.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! The truth about your prescious Rudy is too much to bear, huh?
ROFL!
Nothing like a picture! Here is video of Giuliani’s weekly radio address on September 22, 2000, exactly one week after surgery. He is discussing prostate cancer with the two doctors that operated on him during the first 5 minutes. He certainly does not seem impaired, in any way. He did miss his radio show on September 15, the day of his surgery.

I think Rudy is talking about ‘Christian’ a cross dressing New Yorker here....(chuckle)
What is THAT supposed to mean?
gee and you were such a longtimer too, LOL!!!!!
What post are you referencing?
How on earth can he claim Christian support when hes a Catholic?
That means that some evangelicals (who have posted here at FR) feel Catholics aren’t true Christians. I was poking fun of such people.
