Just five Republican candidates - half the invited field - will take part in Thursday's presidential debate in Baltimore, event organizers said yesterday.
The four leading contenders, Rudolph W. Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson, have each said they will not participate in the forum focusing on issues facing minority voters. Their absence has drawn the ire of Tavis Smiley, the talk-show host who is moderating and organizing the debate at Morgan State University; he said the candidates are making a mistake in not reaching out to black voters.
A list of confirmed participants released yesterday also omits Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado, a staunch opponent of current immigration policy. Confirmed are Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Alan L. Keyes of Maryland, Rep. Duncan Hunter of California and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, organizers said.
Also yesterday, former Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele, the chairman of GOPAC, a Republican political action committee, said in a statement that he was "hopeful" each missing candidate would "adjust his schedule" to participate.

IT will be great that Hunter will get some time to answer questions. These other debates focus to much on Mitt and Rudy, two frauds if you ask me.
Go HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actualy I think it’s more “honest” without an EDIT feature, that way a poster can’t edit history, and may have to “eat their words” one day.. that is so much more fun..
If you make an honest mistake/typo.. just correct it repost, and his “abuse” on the original post and kindly as the mod to delete the post containng the typo.. I have had to do that a few times where the typo changed the context significantly.. for example a poster in another thread this afternoon used the word IRAQ instead of IRAN, it was clearly a typo based on the context, but could be confusing if not read carefully..

Only cowards make such a statement behind an anonymous keyboard. That is what you are. A sniveling coward with a 3rd grade mentality. Oh, and you are a liar to boot. What you are not...is a conservative.
That's ok. Lots of us Paul supporters think that Duncan Hunter needs to stop dragging his knuckles in the dirt, and learn that the military and a big fence isn't the answer to all international problems.
The military has done well with everything that has been thrown at them since 9/11, but diplomacy and nation building are not exactly skills that the military has any use or need for.
And just what lies has Ron Paul told?
Alan Keyes reparations? Didn’t know about that...
That Oregon poll “site” (actually someone’s Blogger blog) was apparently so overwhelmed by traffic coming from here they had to take down the page that Petronski quoted to post his guilt-by-association anti-Paul spam thread.
How can I get a copy of your post?
I wouldn’t hold the title, “Queen of all Typos” if there was an edit feature. So I guess some good can come of it.
Actually - I lost a great deal of respect for FT when he skipped the Value Voters Debate. But after hearing the questions - I understood why FT and Rudy McRomney stayed away - they are totally scared of the truth on REAL issues. They knew they would be pinned down and they like to have wiggle room to pander and/or “adjust” their message for the audience. That debate was not a venue that would be easy at.
And they had only a little to gain, and a WHOLE LOT to lose. Sure wish they had been there.
Then it shouldn't be too difficult to provide proof.
We're all waiting...
“And just what lies has Ron Paul told?”
1. Claiming that he’s a CONSTITUTIONALIST.
2. Claiming that he’s a CONSERVATIVE.
3. Claiming that he’s a REPUBLICAN.
Just another mouth-piece for the hate-America LIEberals.
Why should any Rep candidate subject themselves to questioning by a Dem operative who makes no secret as to where he stands politically? I credit those who don't attend for good judgment.

The Paul supporters are against the border fence too? I knew about the stance on WOT, but I didn’t know about the opposition to the border fence.
I, too, would like to hear what Ron Paul has to say without the “top tier” crowding out the rest of the field.
ps.... and she is Mormon.....love it.
Ron Paul voted five times in Congress AGAINST sending US troops to the Mexican border.
Build Duncan Hunter’s fence, as he would put it: “It’s the law!”
Nice generalities, even if not accurate.
AFAIK, Paul has not spoken on the subject of the fence itself. My guess would be that he supports the building of the fence, as it is law, and there's nothing unconstitutional about it.
i merely refer to Hunter's one majour point. i'm certainly not against the fence, but it's not going to solve our international dilemmas.
