A Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter has scrapped a scheduled appearance on Barbara Walter's "The View" because he doesn't want to be seen on the same stage as Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
Barry Manilow told TMZ.com that he "strongly disagrees" with Hasselbeck's views and that she is "dangerous and offensive."
This is the first time in the brief history of the show that a celebrity guest has demanded that one of the co-hosts be sidelined before a cameo appearance is made.
Manilow, who has been on the show before he even gave Hasselbeck a hug once scrapped the visit because, he said, someone needed to "stand up to these people."

Fag fit.........shut up and sing!
Sing?
No Please, anything but that!
Barry had a severe yeast infection.
Hasselbeck could kick his azz all day long...I can picture it in my own mind as she is sitting on top of him, holding his arms down, and he’s screaming like a girly girl to let him go and she’s laughing histerically.
Does he have to sing.
Barry, you ignorant slut.
NO! Hell no! Manilow you DID NOT scrap this, and I'm not going to stand by and watch you spin it that way. That's bull s--t!
You demanded Hasselbeck be taken off the show so you could appear. And if she wouldn't have appeared you would have. That means you didn't scrap the appearance.
The decision was up to the View. It was not up to You. You left it in their hands. The View told you no. They made the right decision. You deflected to them, and they cooked Your goose.
Manilow, this was very low. You owe Hasselbeck and the show an appology.
I don't get this chance very often, but I think the shows producers made the right decision on this matter. Good for them.
Good God. Has a mild-mannered conservative woman ever been so absused as Elizabeth Hasselback? I mean, really folks - the way people react, you’d think that she’s Ann Coulter. No wonder there are so few Republicans in Hollywood.
I hate to say this, but I think (actually have thought for years) - Barry Manilow is - uh - kinda - like - a little on the ‘girly’ side?
OK. All you Barry Manilow lovers - I am sorry if I offended you. I just posted my own humble opinion.
Does Barry care if conservatives buy his music and attend his concerts over the years? He is wealthy and famous because many people of all political stripes bought his work. Some of these show biz folks are really idiots.
What do you want to bet that when Elisabeth goes on maternity leave Fairy Barry makes an appearance!
Didn’t he guest star on American Idol last year..I seem to remeber quite a few of the contestants are Conservatives, and quite a few ARE strong Christians!!
No to mention Simon, who I suspect to be conservative, (or at the very least-a reasonable liberal)/.
Remember folks, ANYTHING that may be against the NEWspeak of “Gay Civil Rights” is now “dangerous and offensive.”
And leave it at that.
[Didnt he guest star on American Idol last year]
Now that I couldn’t tell you as I am probably the only person around who has never watched American Idol.
and that she’s pregnant meant nothing to Rosie-the-foul-mouthed-one, oh yeah, Rosie ‘bought’ her kids (nothing against legit adoptions intended)
Girly side??? lmao I think he is a bit more then that. I hope I never ever have to hear that moron sing another song again as long as I live. Last night Mandy kept playing in my head . It was dreadful to say the least. ~P~
>>>OK. All you Barry Manilow lovers
The proper term is “fanilows”.
As for the larger issue, Barry and Rosie recorded a duet that was supposed to go on his new cd. At the last minute it was cut from the list and the cd issued without. I think the snub of Elizabeth is just his way of apology to Rosie.
Besides, insulting somebody Rosie dislikes is cheaper then sending roses, and attacking Elizabeth is a lot safer then insulting Trump.
