As distasteful as it may be, Gov. “Flip-flop” Romney is heading for the GOP nomination. He has the organization in IA & NH to win, giving him momentum going in to MI and SC. At some point, Dobson will endorse Romney, despite his Mormon religion, probably in dramatic fashion before the SC primary. In the general, he has the best shot against Her Royal Heinous because of his good looks, which will attract women voters.

>>>”Isn’t Thompson the candidate who is opposed to a Constitutional amendment to protect marriage, believes there should be 50 different definitions of marriage in the U.S., favors McCain-Feingold, won’t talk at all about what he believes, and can’t speak his way out of a paper bag on the campaign trail?” Dobson wrote.

“He has no passion, no zeal, and no apparent ‘want to.’ And yet he is apparently the Great Hope that burns in the breasts of many conservative Christians? Well, not for me, my brothers. Not for me!” <<<<

He sounds like A.J. Madison! I wonder....

Not that I need Dobson to tell me so, but Fred has been thoroughly unimpressive thus far. And he doesn’t look well. All in all, I’m not particularly hopeful.

I was once told that when you write an email, write it as if it would be published on the front page of the newspaper. There is always a chance that is may end up there.

Why does the Thompson campaign keep saying he has a “100%” totally total pro-life record? What is their standard? He is obviously indifferent on abortion.

"Isn't Thompson the candidate who is opposed to a Constitutional amendment to protect marriage, believes there should be 50 different definitions of marriage in the U.S...."

Because, Jim, it isn't the business of the federal government to engage in social engineering even when the results are those that you think you'd like. If you want that kind of government then go to the former Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Cuba, the People's Republic of China, or Venezuela or get a bunch of folks to follow you to some place out in the middle of Guyana (or one of the Carolinas).

I respect James Dobson, but I’ll make my decision by myself. If he doesn’t like Fred Thompson then he shouldn’t vote for him,but I’ll vote for whom I believe to be the best candidate regardless of James Dobson !!!

“Dobson and other Christian conservatives support an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would bar gay marriage nationally. Thompson has said he would support a constitutional amendment that would prohibit states from imposing their gay marriage laws on other states, which falls well short of that.”

I’m with Fred on that one too. Dobson and others like him want the Feds to impose THEIR beliefs on the states but not other people’s beliefs. They can’t have it both ways. The likes of marriage, abortion, drinking age, speed limits, etc. are all STATE issues. I’m sorry but you can’t legislate morality and you should not even try. The federal government is too much involved in things the constitution doesn’t give them permission to be involved in and marriage is one of them.

Oh, and by the way, I’m a former youth pastor, so my Christian credentials are solid.
