The stilted delivery is concerning, not because of the content....the content is fine.
The pulling on his ears and chin tells me he's assembling his quip/lines slower than he's talking.
If he does this in a debate it's going to be problematic for showmanship.
I don't care about showmanship, but that's how Reagan won with "There you go again..." Reagan was quick, and yet he was cast as dull-witted. The press and the opposition will have no trouble casting aspersions on Fred.
Because you might choose “wrong”
in the arrogant, elitist bastards’ opinion.
So, you must be FORCED, yes, FORCED, to make the “correct” choices.
Er, uh. He's got a little bit of big city snobbishness himself by recording a commercial while being driven around in the back seat.
Get the lines together, sit in front of the camera, put the tie on or off, and do the spot!
Your asterisks point out that it comes across so much better when he says it, than it does in print.
Just thinking of Hillary in charge of anything at all, with all the corruption she is capable of is enough to *make* me sick.
“Having Fred in the White House will be like having Davy Crockett back in Washington. He is a no-nonsense leader who doesn’t wait for pollsters but follows the maxim: “Be sure you are right and then go ahead”.”
My husband said the same thing when he saw it, as you said.
Not just a big city snob, but a Rudy supporter....
Its a bus from what I hear...
Ha! Good one, Leni. ";^)
Not just a big city snob, but a Rudy supporter....
From my experience the two go hand in hand.
Er, uh. He’s got a little bit of big city snobbishness himself by recording a commercial while being driven around in the back seat.
he’s on a campaign bus, that’s hardly snobbish. I don’t see any other candidates actually driving thier own campaign buses or flying thier own airplanes from state to state, but hey what do I know.
True.
ROTFLMAO!
Don’t be a hysterical Fairtax-defender-type.
Take constructive criticism for what it is.
The fewer skin-crawling reactions people have, the better the ad.
Those of us who think he used the backdrop and mannerism poorly in this case are not wrong, for us, and Fred can use that kind of feedback to eliminate that in the future.
The “busy in the leather office” background and production of the Mikey Moore retort Fred made was well planned, and looked/worked great. Smooth delivery of your lines. Cigar=great. Either wear a tie or don’t.
This is showbiz. I expect better from Fred.

However, don’t you ever lump me in with the FairTaxers again, or will have to step outside ;-)
Arggh!
Aye matey...
Am I meant to be part of the “obtuse contingent”?
I haven’t made up my mind yet; it’s still pretty early. I like Giuliani, although I disagree with many of his more liberal positions (guns, abortion). Hunter has yet to impress me. Romney... color me dubious.
I want to like Fred. That’s why I’m looking forward to seeing him in debate. I just felt this video seemed a bit canned.
I loved Reagan. I thought he was sincere. I don’t know about Fred. Not yet.
