“The right wing isn’t just taking over the country, it’s shanghaiing all our values. “

What “right wing” would that be? The current Administration may be Republican, but it certainly isn’t “right wing”.

This comes from Howard Gardner, psychologist of multiple intelligence fame.

So freakin' famous...I've never heard of him.

Just speaking for myself, of course.

Old Howard's not showing much of any kind of intelligence with that statement.

More “it’s-true-because-I-say-it’s-true” bilge from the left. This “professor” cannot give one example to prove this point.

If there’s a Republican administration after the next election, I would join in efforts for some sort of secession.

I'll join you in your efforts, Sunflower. Viva Jesusland.

So he’s okay with secession if he’s one of the ones doing the seceding, but I’ll bet he believes that the South didn’t have the right to secede back in 1861.

Howard Gardner

I think I heard him on David Brudnoy one night, halfway through Clinton's first term.

Personally, I was mad at what Clinton was doing, and Prof. Gardner wanted the chance to help Clinton be more effective at screwing up the country.

In the magazine Foreign Policy, he argued in the spring for upper limits on the amount of income an American should be allowed to keep and the amount of wealth that can be passed on to beneficiaries ($4 million a year and $200 million, respectively). “

yikes....so THAT's our values....

He says that I am shanghaiing his values? That would imply that I am taking his values. No way, professor! You can keep your values, is that’s what you wish to call them.

By the way, isn’t the term “Shanghaiing” culturally insensitive? It doesn’t bother me that much; but in this new secessionist country you are planning (perhaps to be located on an off-shore oile platfomr), you better be careful with demeaning language like that.

Please secede! We'd support your seceding! You and all the wingnut leftie university "communities." Join Canada, and leave us with the South, the northern West except for Seattle, and the MIdwest!

Well heck lets see, Maybe the South is gonna rise again as we will have to invade the NE and CA to save the dang UNION. Wonder how they will like that. Just seems fair to me. A little 12 year occupation and carpetbagging and no vote in the Congress by these idiots would make my day.

Professor Gardner, this is extreme cultural insensitivity on your part, to denigrate anyone as trying to "Shanghai" anyone else..... don't you know that it is not politically correct to disparage a great Chinese city and people in this way? What are you teaching your students at Harvard??

SHANGHAI 1. To kidnap (a man) for compulsory service aboard a ship, especially after drugging him. 2. To induce or compel (someone) to do something, especially by fraud or force: We were shanghaied into buying worthless securities.

Another Democrat lays bare his extreme partisanship.
Without as much as knowing whom it may be, or what his policies are, Gardner is already ready for secession on the mere basis that the next President isn't a Democrat.

“I would rather be governed by the first 2000 names in the Boston phone book than by the Harvard faculty.”—William Buckley

A wise and true observation.
