If McCain won he debate per Fox, fast talking Fox was driving that train. No way did he win and no way could McCain beat Hilary (who is a sneakyperson/candidate). She was married to a prez - that’s all. Maybe she was acting prez when he was in the theater with Mondale’s daughter, etc. I don’t want Hil bk. McCain can’t beat HRC.

IMO, he could have easily built a stronger premise. Iran has supplied us far more causus belli than just killing our soldiers.

The real threat of Iran is the combination of the willingness to supply and train terrorists while simultaneously seeking weapons of mass destruction. They have obviously demonstrated motive and means for delivery. What they have lacked historically is opportunity. We must continue to deny that opportunity.

A nuclear or biological weapon (such as weaponized smallpox from Kazakhstan) could easily be delivered with deniable culpability. Hence we simply must keep the Iranians from acquiring them, by force if necessary.

That's a case the American people will buy as long as they have proof that the Iranians are seeking those weapons (no brainer there) and intend to use them against America on American soil (which the attacks on our soldiers by Revolutionary Guards strongly indicates). The press release cites the latter without connecting it to the former. It gets a C in my book.

I’m not so sure it will scare off too many conservatives

Of course not, but that's not all of who he needs to build even a Republican majority. To even win the nomination, conservatives must believe that he can win the general election. That may be his greatest hurdle.

Look at Tom McClintock in California. Internal polling strongly indicated that he was the preferred candidate if the people had voted according to their hearts, even over Arnold, but Tom lost to Arnold by a wide margin because conservatives had bought the old canard, "he can win."

Let’s pray that the CA election has taught the GOP something. You vote in a supposed moderate, you actually get a liberal.

No it's worse: you get a liberal without opposition.

Duncan Hunter has been continuously talking about Iran for months. If you really want to see what he has been saying, let me know and I’ll start pinging you to the archives.

Oh, I think he talks about more than Iran. Frankly, it would help his chances if he did.

I don't need to see where he stands. I do want to see better crafted press releases and sound-bites in the future.

That seems silly to me. That stuff is not justification for the sacrifice in our lives and treasure and you know it.

Iowa here too,
Hunter has always impressed me, I like Tanc alot as well and have contributed to them both...at this point I’d take either as a VP for FRed. Or at least in his administration (SEC-DEF and DHS).

All I can say is that the MSM is out to defeat any of the candidates that they fear. Last night after the debates, I was listening the ABC News Radio at the top of the 10 o’clock hour. They mentioned the debate and said this is a response from Tom Tancredo. It was the question about Larry Craig that was tossed to Duncan Hunter. They played the sound byte and it was indeed Duncan Hunter.

THEY BOTCHED IT AND OF COURSE THEY WON’T BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THAT. RIDICULOUS!!!

Actually, Rep. Hunter chose to skip over the prelims and go straight to the final moments. The question was posed to him at 7:29PM. If people couldn’t see that time was getting very short, and the question really required more 60 seconds to be answered properly, that is their problem.

It's his problem to make the most of the 60 seconds and he knows it. He even wasted time bitching about it.

I’d take Romney over Guiliani. I'd hold my nose and vote for moonbat Ron Paul over that duo...at least he had the intestinal fortitude to wear a uniform of our country at one time!
So did Murtha and that's no reason to vote for him either.

Fred-On, Apply directly to the White House!

Ads like that are about as interesting as these debates.

We need to move presidential debates to more of House of Commons format.
