NEW YORK -- Whoopi Goldberg started her stint on ABC's "The View" Tuesday by coming to the defense of convicted felon Michael Vick.

Just 15 minutes into the show she brought up Vick's conviction on dogfighting charges.

"You know from his background this is not an unusual thing for where he comes from," said Goldberg.

"There are certain things that are indicative to certain parts of our country."

Co-host Joy Behar seemed shocked at Goldberg's statements.

"How about dog torture and dog murdering," Behar asked.

Yea, but did you hear about Vick signing a contract to endorse shoes?

Classic soft bigotry: we heard it about Willie Nelson and now we're hearing it about Vick. "These poor people can't be expected to abide by the same laws as everyone else, you heartless brutes."

.....sadistic a$$holes who just like to do that kind of thing for fun??

It’s also part of the culture of serial murderers to kill often, with zest and vigor. Who are we to question?

Militant

I am not sure if there is a defense for dog fighting but if there is one, I will allow a liberal moron like Whoopi try to make it, but the problem for Vick goes way beyond the dogfighting. In his indictment, a professional dogfighter wondered why torture the dogs you want to dispose of, wouldn’t it be better just to shoot them. Which is to say that even in a sport as cruel as dogfighting, Vick’s behavior was beyond the norms within the sport.

To patch things up, Behar and Goldberg went on to say that killing a baby in the womb was A-OK.

Well of course abortion is ok. Behar and Goldberg are both good liberals at their cores.

One has to hope that Whoopi will be ostracized in the far left circles of Upper Manhattan for these ridiculous statements.

Wonder if this means that she would be in favor of torture of prisoners to get important information about a bomb?

Either way, the excuse that is it part of his culture(what culture, the American culture?) still make it wrong. Moral wrongs cannot be relative to ones subculture.

Indicative?

Mark your calendars... Joy Behar actually said something that made sense!

What does this idiot know about the “Southern Culture”?
You can find dog fighting and cock fighting in the Northeast and the West Coast, but it doesn’t make it any more right. I am sick and tired of ignorant people trying to define crime as a cultural issue related to the South. Maybe we should excuse all the murders in New Orleans because they are cultural related to being raised in NO. What a bunch of bunk.

She was once a very good comic.

Now?

She’s just a punchline all by herself.

Exactly.

Polygamy was once part of the culture of certain parts of the country. But it is illegal.

What if Miss Goldberg is doing the job ABC is paying her to do?

She wasn't hired for her looks or her towering intellect. She was hired to draw viewers to sell to advertisers. Her technique is to pretend that utterly moronic beliefs have validity.

Don't blame Whoopi. Blame the advertisers who clearly *demand* the service she willingly provides.
