This has already happened in parts of Washington and Oregon. Farmers put out of business because of the need for water for the fish. It goes on in Colorado also. Just ask some of the ranchers that have had their wells shut down. Some of those wells are over a 100 years old.

The Endangered Species Act Out of ControlAs with all legislation based on the New Deal "substantial effects" doctrine, there never was any "control".
To quote Clarence Thomas - "The substantial effects test is no test at all. It is a blank check."

No need to take water from the salmon rivers; it can easily be obtained by (1) building a huge nuke power plant and (2) using the power to desalinate sea water.
Wouldn’t THAT make liberal heads spin!

Yeah, well, Former Congressman Richard Pombo of Tracy, CA tried to revise it and tweak it toward a little commonsense and the Dems targeted him during the ‘06 Repub bashing election and got him voted off the island!!!

About 200 years ago, a man named Seth Green of Rochester, NY began his fish hatcheries. His dream was that everyone could afford to buy fish. Many of these hatches were shipped to the west coast to propogate further. We still stock the Great Lakes today. Same fish...different day.
Many people think that these fish farms are something new because they simply don't know the history.

Some will hold that you don’t own the land but only own the rights to it.
To: Red Badger
Ok so your mortgage holder is allowing you to pay big bucks so that you can pay taxes on your property for the rest of your life. Sounds to me like the government only rents you the property and the mortgage holder charges you a lot of interest on the money you borrowed from them to pay the last “Owner” for the privilege of renting it from the government.

This is nuttier than one might imagine. The hatcheries spawn them then let then free. They go out to sea for years and eventually come back to where they were born. I can’t see where they differ from wild salmon. Are they tattooed by the hatchery?
