The United States has 90 guns for every 100 citizens, making it the most heavily armed society in the world, a report released on Tuesday said.

U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world's 875 million known firearms, according to the Small Arms Survey 2007 by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies.

About 4.5 million of the 8 million new guns manufactured worldwide each year are purchased in the United States, it said.

Gun control laws should be cut down, not added to, but what's the point of mentioning crime in communities of people of African descent?

Unless you're suggesting that gun ownership should be restricted to Americans of non-African descent.....?

I think they WAY under-counted.

"With the .45 cowboys it makes a great "home" gun."

I'll bet. My only problem with the Guide Gun is the ported barrel. I'm also a passionate trap shooter and though ported barrels are fashionable these days they can be miserably loud to stand next to when they fire.

Do you have any problem with the ports leading when you use the cowboy loads?

After about 500 rounds I noticed they were closing up some but no, no real problem with it. Just used a tooth pick to clean 'em.

"Are you mad at your shoulder or something? :)

I want to say that because I cut my teeth on a .375 Holland, and have done so much recreational shooting in my years I'm just not sensitive to recoil. I think me being too dumb to feel pain is closer to the truth.

Only 4.5 million of the 8 million produced are purchased by the U.S! We need to pick up the slack!

LOL!

Was the Holland an actual double rifle?

I would love to own a double. Someone should make some reasonable priced ones in 30-06 and such. I'd buy one in a second!

You and me both! As sick as it sounds to many of my friends, I think the humble 30-30 would make a great double.

I've owned three .375 Hollands in my life. Two were M70 Winchesters and one was the Ruger Tropical I mentioned earlier.

I,ve got a lever that shoots the .454 (and of course the .45 as well). I love that gun. With heavy .454 loads (Buffalo Bore ammo) it could take a Cape Buff!

Legacy Puma 454 rifles are awesome. Got one myself.

"nice.......Is that with the oct. barrel...."

Yes, it has a 26 in. Octagon barrel. I'm a little frustrated with it because I purchased an aftermarket sight for it and while the rifle is quite accurate, I can't get the sights the way I want.

What I bought is a "milled from bar stock" buckhorn rear sight that flips up to be a "ladder sight" for long rang shooting. I've gone through several different height front sights, and have been unable to calibrate it to hit point of aim at 200 with the ladder at it's lowest position and hit point of aim at 100 with the sight folded down to the buckhorn.

I love the way the new sight looks, and I really hope I can get it to work. If not I'll go back to one like the original.

I am probably not the first to tell you this, but WELL SAID! Very WELL SAID!

Remington was supposed to be importing them from Baikal but never did. They even have a page on their site about them http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/SPR_models/SPR22.asp

I had thought 30-06 but 30-30 would be fun or even 45-70.

“This is why the Muslims will never succeed in taking this country over.”

Yeah, for sure. The article stated that there are 90 guns per 100 people in the U.S. The goal should be 100 guns per 100 people....
