The United States has 90 guns for every 100 citizens, making it the most heavily armed society in the world, a report released on Tuesday said.

U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world's 875 million known firearms, according to the Small Arms Survey 2007 by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies.

About 4.5 million of the 8 million new guns manufactured worldwide each year are purchased in the United States, it said.

That means we’re still 10 guns short for every 100 people.

I’d love to see a breakdown of how many guns are owned most frequently. 1 or a larger #? I suspect the latter. Is a half dozen typical or atypical? I know I’m good for a few. :) And would like a few more.

Geez, these weenie international bodies don’t know much do they?

It’s not the 90 out of 100, it’s the 1,000 round bricks that are purchased at the same time, a firearm with no bullets is a club only..../s

“90 guns for every 100 citizens”

So... we are 90% male?

I rather see stats on weapons (for fighting... not for fun)...

That's kind of deceptive. I could have 90 guns... Well almost anyway. Here a few of my faves:
