[Pat] Robertson Predicts 'Mass Killing' [in Sept 2007]
Jan 2 07:29 PM US/Eastern
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Tuesday that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in "mass killing" late in 2007. "I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network. "The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that."
Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.
Robertson said God also told him that the U.S. only feigns friendship with Israel and that U.S. policies are pushing Israel toward "national suicide."
Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli- controlled land to the Palestinians.
The broadcaster predicted in January 2004 that President Bush would easily win re-election. Bush won 51 percent of the vote that fall, beating Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts. He also predicted Bush's victory for a second term in 2005.
"I have a relatively good track record," he said. "Sometimes I miss."
In May, Robertson said God told him that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America's coastline in 2006. Even though the U.S. was not hit with a tsunami, Robertson on Tuesday cited last spring's heavy rains and flooding in New England as partly fulfilling the prediction.
I have no idea, I wasn’t there.
A Christian Jew!
I highly doubt it given this sentence...”I have a relatively good track record,” he said. “Sometimes I miss.” He seems to be taking credit for what he’s saying and not attributing it to God.
Somebody stuff a sock in his mouth.
Forgot who that guy is, but I saw a gentleman on TV...many years ago....who said he was his former college roommate. The guy said this “religious leader” told him that he would someday be a millionaire working as an evangelist by scamming people.
I agree with you too. His “track record” is embarassing, however, I don’t consider him a fraud. He’s never said anything theological that I disagree with.
I just posted this as food for thought.
Yeah, Pat’s wrong. Sarkozy said yesterday that Iran may have be bombed back to the stone age. What does Sarko know that we do not? Huh? Duh ! AQ already has dirty bombs and possibly some nukes. ‘Nuff said.
Oh I see. Thanks for the clarification.
That’s a good one...have to remember that. (Deut. 18:21-22, that is.)
I guess now's the time for me to cash in my 401K and build a bunker under my house.
“Trying to figure out why the media paraphrases a statement like that. Wouldnt the actual quote be more persuasive?”
The article is full of that. Propaganda 101.
LOL!
>>Hes never said anything theological that I disagree with.<<
You mean, aside from the fact that he believes he receives special revelations from God? A spiritual gift that has not authentically been witnessed as true since the 1st century church was established?
Prophecy (as foretelling) is no longer an active spiritual gift; it ended once the church was established and authenticated by the Apostles.
Prophecy (as forth-telling - ie, witnessing to the lost) still is commanded, however.
God’s will is already revealed in the totality of His Word. He has nothing new to tell us until Christ returns.
Or stock up on his protein shakes to protect you.
I am still awaiting the worldwide depression Pat predicted in the 80’s.

What sect are you a member of?
I stopped believing predictions like these after the Great Criswell died. I predict someone in the future will use a nuclear weapon in the Mid East. If it happens and I told you God spoke to me last night and told me so, would you believe it? Of course not. But you do expect it to happen. We all expect something to happen but no one really knows when, where, or how devastating it may be. All great powers have had their share of destruction, the new world has been lucky, how much longer do you think our luck will hold out?
