Because a human being could suffer or die if their horse was stolen.

They stole horses for crying out loud, a very valuable commodity.

Frankly, I think killing the dogs was the least of it. I mean dogs are put down daily in shelters and vets offices. In the olden days, owners put them down themselves with guns. Dogs are dogs, cats are cats and if ktheir owners want them dead, so be it.

But he is a mean mean man to do what he did. No civilized person kills a dog that way. But civilized people kill dogs daily without penalty.

I ithink dog fighting is dreadful and cruel but dont’ know why it is criminal.

The gambling is criminal. So he is a mean man who promotes gambling. He will be a pariah. And his judgement is zero.

I don’t know if he deserves prison.

The former actress and singer, Doris Day, when she retired devoted her retirement years to taking care of animals. And she said “They give such tremendous love”. The love part, between an animal and his person, is what you are missing here. Love. Please think about that.

I have. I think you should love humans first, and animals second. Even Michael Vick, who is not perfect, but neither am I.

I have two dogs. A dachsund and a mutt. I love those dogs. But Michael Vick, a human being with a soul, comes first.

If it were me, I would want to make my point in a concise, understandable way, and if asked, explain it when asked to do so.

So you posted the message for no apparent reason?

Well, I'm left to my own devices, so here goes:

You believe that God is in all, whether it be plants, animals, cheese, rocks, no differentiation. As a result, you are a pantheist, and wear clothing made out of combed dryer lint.

How's that? :)

Got your point, Thanks!

Nam, is Vick going to get rich when he is done paying back his debt to society...if you thought the $130 million with $27 million dollar the signing bonus was something, wait until Vick returns to the NFL, can you say 200 million dollar 45 signing bonus deal with all the other teams except the Falcons will dish out for Vick’s services?

"... Why on earth should Vick's agent have to pay back his 10%? The agent helped Vick get the money; the agent didn't cause Vick to p!$$ it away."

I'd guess that an NFL contract is quite a lot more paperwork than a typical mortgage loan, and the agent better look closely to see that his share isn't dependent on Vick playing for a stated period of time with no interruptions of any kind.

I listened to this at lunch. IMO, all scripted, considerably coached, and most definitely a long-term plan.

He figures one year probation, a heavy fine, and return to the NFL in one year ("a lot to think about in the next year"), maybe three. Look for many stories about how common dog fighting and animal cruelty is in the next year, to smoke-up the clarity of public perception of the horror of the acts -- a coordinated campaign to get the asset back into production.

Note no admission of gambling. That would be lifetime.

According to Goodell’s press release after Vick’s admission was published the gambling stuff Vick did admit to is close enough. Had some pretty strong statements about “exposing himself to corrupting influences”. As long as Goodell is in charge Vick isn’t coming back.

He said, "Through this situation I've found Jesus."

Oh yeah! And in this bizarro world, even Paris Hilton discovered the bible before heading off to the one person prison cell...

Vick should be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan, where he could work for something larger than himself.

But then, he’s no Pat Tillman.

It’s always amazing how people find Jesus when their finances and careers are threatened....

As the old saying goes, there are no athiests in foxholes.

Being truthful about EVERYTHING he did rather than lying and giving half-truths would have been a great start.

With any luck he will have several years to contemplate that in the federal pen.

Are you quite sure Michael Vick has a soul? I put a loving dog before a human who seems to have no soul.

Apologize:
1. To make an apology or defense.

2. To make an apology or excuse; to make acknowledgment of some fault or offense, with expression of regret for it, by way of amends; — with for; as, my correspondent apologized for not answering my letter.

3. To defend

OK, so he apopogized, but not once did he say he was truly sorry.

He is scum.

Does Michael Vick have a soul?

When the judgment day comes, you be sure and ask that question. Personally, I’ll be flat on my face hoping for mercy.
