Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

If (god forbid) we get Rudy against a Hillary, do you think you really do yourself proud by sitting a vote out or voting third party when that would give rise to the Presidency of Hillary? Are you willing to enable Hillary? I am not.
If it comes down to Hilliary vs Rudy I'm voting for Rudy, but is there any reason to vote for Rudy other than Hillary becoming president?

I was put in this position when my son went to Iraq. Here I was pulled between the position of mother and patriot . I was suppose to leave all common sense questions at the military gates.
Our own "billbears" has a son going active-duty before too long. I know he has many of these same conflicts, coming from an unbroken line of military men in his family.
Questions like ; why not go to the source of the world terrorism, like Saudi Arabia who finances it; why were most of the 911 terrorist Saudis; why was our borders still wide open when we knew without a doubt that terrorist were crossing them ;why were we silent when clintons were killing Christians and turning over the Balkans to radical islam ; why did a REPUBLICAN congress vote for this action?
If you can get an answer that makes any sense at all, flag me!
I voted for republicans last two elections and was lied to ,it will take a hell of a good liar to fool me again.
I'm still trying to loyal to the GOP as long as they don't utterly repudiate the conservative agenda. Admittedly, they're pretty offensive currently. For me, only the leftwing transvestite mayor is a deal-breaker. Otherwise, I will do my best to vote for the GOP nominee. But I do understand that others hold varying opinions.

I agree . he has actually exchanged more rights than the bitch clinton did . He took ours away and gave them to the invaders .Illegals including terrorist can break the laws we are held liable for . They can rape even little children, kill and push drugs all under the protection of our leaders and their appointed judges .They will even cross borders to bring in criminals to put Americans like Ramos and Conmpean in prison . They allow felons to possess weapons , [ try this if you are an American felon ] in militant islamic camps known to be tied to terrorism [Islamburg and many more compound's]
Wake up and get active with ballots not bullets . meet the invaders in the streets ,this is your country, defend it !
Sept.1st we are to have thousands of mexican trucks coming across our borders to take our jobs, turn us into roadkill and bring in more poison food and other imports for our family’s . So much for phone calls and emails . They only humored us with this last amnesty ‘victory’.

I do not like Rudy in many ways, but I sure as heck won’t vote or not vote to get a Hillary in.
Some people are totally stupid and like to teach people lessons that cut off their own heads (which could be part of Ron Paul’s plans to exit Iraq).

I think jealousy has a lot to do with this post. Ron Paul supporters from 29 states took to the streets yesterday to walk in support of their candidate. More than 70 people in LA walked for 10 miles.Know anyone doing that for Duncan Hunter, or any other candidate for that matter?
Some of these folks wouldn't walk across the street for their own candidates. Most of them post about the thousands of dollars they've donated but I find that pretty farfetched. And they do resent the genuine and heartfelt excitement that surrounds the Ron Paul campaign.
And welcome to FR.

Good luck finding one . Things just keep getting worse ,so something ain’t working . i am a conservative and my vote will testify to that . No more wolves in sheep's clothing for me . Don’t take this personal .I won’t forget how many have died to protect this nation that is being surrendered to the invading army’s .

Listen FRiend, if you can't see that Rudy and Hillary are one in the same, you're nuts.
Hillary will try to install socialized medicine.
And what's Rudy's statements been on the state of medicine, insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, etc? Has he said we should at least NOT have any MORE socialized medicine? I don't recall any such blunt statement by him. I'd be willing to wager, if President, he would propose a "compassionate conservative alternative to socialized medicine". Whatever that would mean.
Hillary will raise the hell out of taxes and lead the Congress to numerous bad laws, judges and increased pro-abortion laws.
You're joking right? Whatever you think of my last statement, you cannot possibly think that Rudy is any different than Hillary on these points. For Example: RUDY IS PRO-CHOICE FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!!!!!! Do you honestly think he will not participate in "increased pro-abortion laws"?!?
Get your thinking cap in please, you couldnt be more wrong in your statement to me based on the facts in evidence.
What facts? You mean these?
To: George W. Bush
Whew. That was a tough spelling correction. So you think those who don't support Ron Paul are loonier than truthers and members of moveon.org?
Very telling.

I don’t like Rudy and figure we will have Fred be the Republican in the race.
That said, if it is a Rudy vs. Hillary race, I am for Rudy over throwing my vote away for a Democrat or voting for the Democrat.
Hillary is fairly close to an outright communist. Maybe that is cool for you, but not for me.

Ok, let me put it this way. (which I kind of did before anyway): You can vote for Rudy in the general if you want, I don’t *blame* you for doing that.
I just can’t see any difference between the two. I really can’t. So I honestly see no reason to choose. IOW, if it comes down to Rudy vs Hillary, the Presidency is *already* lost.
To: janetgreen
“Uh, that’s already happened (a lost war, people slaughtered by the millions by extremists).”
Let go of Vietnam.

An RP thread is a poor place to make nice over the horror of a Rudi nomination. There is utter antipathy between the Juliebots and the Paulian Horde. This goes back a long way, well before that first debate when the transsexual mayor was displaying his ignorance in attacking Ron Paul for accurately citing the 9/11 Commission, the CIA, etc. We generally consider Rudi to be an authoritarian menace to the Constitution and an open enemy of at least the First and Second Amendments, probably others as well.
On some recent threads, the son of a FReeper wrote a server-based candidate quiz and deployed it. Everyone was invited to take it. What struck me was how uniform it was among Ron Paul supporters that Ron Paul strongly led all the other candidates as expected. But Giuliani was at the very bottom of the list in low negative numbers, completely below the Dims in the list. I thought it was quite striking. Ron Paul is the anti-Giuliani in many many ways.
