Brian Williams and Tim Russert made it sound like John Warner, "one of the president's strongest allies on the War in Iraq", has now changed his stance and wants to bring the troops home. John Warner sold the president up the river long ago. For the NBC talking heads to claim this is a new, dramatic shift, is an outragous lie and they need to be called on it. I don't believe I have every witnessed a more blatant collection of lies.
LOL!
Did he mention he still loves LIz, too?
You'd think Warner would know that

Truman goofed, with terrible results, when he agreed to withdraw our troops from South Korea in 1949.

Another great post. Thanks!
I thought this photo of Warner from an Alaskan newspaper was interesting:

It makes it look like two Senators are in favor of pullout. So much for media accuracy.
Speaking as a Virginian, Warner is way past his prime and is a blathering old fool who is long overdue for defeat in the next election or immediate retirement (whichever comes first). He is a classic RINO. He voted in favor of shamnesty in 2006. I wrote him at the time and assured him that due to his 2006 vote for shamensty that I would vote against him when he ran again. Got the standard “thank you for contacting me” form letter from the scalawag. In 2007, he voted for the shamnesty bill, then when the phone lines got too hot, he voted against it. Our other Senator, Webb, who is a DimRAT weasel, voted against shamnesty both times in 2007 because he didn’t like Teddy & Co. twisting his arm to vote in favor of Shamnesty. Go figure.

In the vernacular, that’s what’s known as a “CYA move”. :’) In both of those examples.
I’m sad to see Warner and Webb (idiots) representing the fine state of
Virginia.
