Detective Chief Superintendent Barry Norman thought he had seen it all during his 28 years with the Metropolitan Police Force: gruesome murders, brutal rapes and vicious armed robberies.
Yet, as he rose through the ranks from a constable to the head of Scotland Yard's Violent Crime Directorate, nothing prepared him for the scale of the task he now faces - tackling gang warfare.
Scotland Yard has just completed the task of counting how many street gangs there are in London. The results are staggering: there are more than 170, some of them up to 100-strong. It means on any given night, several thousand gang members are roaming the capital, many of them thirsting for violence. In other British cities, notably Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Birmingham, there is a frighteningly similar picture.
"Serious youth violence is the biggest problem we have today in London - with the possible exception of terrorism," Mr Norman told The Sunday Telegraph. "Nothing frightens people more, and when that violence takes place in a group setting, it is all the more shocking.
"If I could achieve just one more thing in my service, it would be to wake up the whole of London to this problem. Trying to suppress [gang] crime on a day-to-day basis is like holding a football underwater. Eventually it just comes flying back in your face."

If it goes unchecked the gangsters will take power and THEY will keep order. They won’t have the scruples of the police and bleeding heart judges.

It was different though. There are more ethnic gangs than in the movies.
Gun them down. When animals take over they need to to be eliminated. Not all will die, just a few and the rest will scurry away.

You’ll end the turf blood baths in a years time. Then send the welfare dregs to the sweatshops...to pay for private education for their children.

I thought guns were illegal in the UK.
So did I, but as always, what one lacks, is what one yearns for, and eventually they shall have it.
And you have to watch out for "Hell's Grannies" and those vicious gangs of "Keep Left" signs.
FWIW, despite the rogues gallery pic above, the gang problem includes a more widespread “diversity” than the writer wished to convey.....from the very last lines on the 3rd page of a list of deceased gang members:

In the end, there is only 2 ways to deal with a vicious animal: cage it or kill it.
Not sure if the young folks were actually in gangs. All of them are dead -- shot or stabbed to death. I assume they were killed in gang violence but I haven't seen anything that says these kids were up to no good...
But it is really sad, they look like decent kids. What a waste of life.

We have over 400 gangs here in LAs Vegas.
They don’t have a ACLU in Britain.
