I know what you mean.

I have been blessed enough to have been raised next to (and returned here after college) Fort Hood, Texas, home to 40,000+ of the finest men and women in this country. I am very proud that my friends, neighbors, and customers serve their country, and I am humbled to be able to serve them back.

What these people (like your son) do as a routine is so much bigger than themselves, yet they do it mostly without complaint, and in anonymity.

I am happy that your son was cleared, Mr. Sharratt, and I am proud of him, too. Thank you for your sacrifice, as well.

Don't consider this an answer, just a message. You'll get it.

A$$holes of the world (turn on speakers)

I and other freepers stand with you, Mr. Sharratt, and are humbled by your strength of character and perserverence. It is no wonder that your son turned out to be the noble man he is with you as his dad.

She's just got nothing to add.... she could only wish she'd have a boy that could become a young man in the Marine Corps.

Then she could say ," We both have sons that are the finest warriors and defenders of our country."

.... but maybe she can only say..."Your son is a Marine, Oh...well my son is shoveling sh#t in Louisiana.".....

JagHunter has excellent coverage of the Haditha mess. I hope our guys come out on top. I wish Bush would give limited pardons to our guys because it’s become too divisive an issue. If Lieutenant Calley can be pardoned then so should they.

Sir:

When you next contact your son, please thank him on my behalf for his service to our Country in such perilous times. We have a volunteer military now, so his choice of career has special meaning.

Also, please allow me extend my gratitude to you and the rest of your family for raising such an honorable and brave young man.

Hearing stories about young Americans like your son gives me hope for the future of America. You have a right to be both pissed off and proud.

I wish I could go to the barber and get a haircut for $10 instead of a $75 one from the stylist.

Best wishes to you and your son.

I am grateful to your son, and to you. I know that my freedom and the freedom of my family was paid for by the blood of other peoples sons and daughters. I do think that most people feel the same. There are always those vocal critics of everything American that give a different impression, but the truth will always surface eventually. Haditha is a great case in point.

Mr. Sharratt, I’m just going to go ahead and pretend that she just said, “Oh.” because she was fighting the big lump in her throat because of your son, the hero. She was overwhelmed with emotion and gratefulness. She didn’t know what else to say at that point, so she says nothing else.

Later, when she went home, she berated herself profusely, “I should have said ‘please thank your son for me.”

That is my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Oh, and please tell your son “thank you” for me—and my family. :^)

John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Heaven is going to be full of soldiers who endured hardship for His eternal peace.

I 2 sons, both are Marines and have a total of 6 deployments between them to both Iraq and Afganistan.

They both are 10 times the man I was on my best day.

God bless all the Marines; may their tribe increase.

Inquiring minds want to know if your hair looked like this when you walked in the barber shop:
; )

Oh, and BTW...it's a two way street. 50,000 young men work with one of the finest young men this country has to offer.

[God Bless Our Haditha Marines]

And may the Lord Jesus save them from renegade liberal politicians who HATE God and Country and Justice and have no qualms about railroading them into jail for doing their duty, such as the Haditha Eight; a case based on the testimony of Al Qlqueda terrorists who are friends of the democrats.
