I'm not going to call Bill O'Reilly a liar... yet, but... on his TV show today, he read off a laundry list of ridiculous "hate" statements like "I hate blacks," "Hillary should be assassinated" and "homosexuals are dogs" that he said he personally found on Free Republic and claims that they were posted here today. I do not believe that. I doubt that he personally logged on to FR and I doubt he found any such thing posted here today.
Who knows what we may have missed and is buried deep in our archives of millions of posts, but our readers do a pretty good job of alerting us to anything out of bounds that is posted and we pull it. Also, one of our readers found a couple of the quotes he alleges, and if they are the ones O'Reilly is complaining about, he took them way out of context. They were simply quotes in the articles posted not statements posted by FReepers.
As soon as he provides me a list of the alleged posts and their URLs, I'll believe him. If he doesn't... then... well, guess he'll deserve to be known as what he is.
Still, I'm surprised that he would claim such things are true. I suspect he's either gotten bad information from staff, or misunderstood its origin.
xsteen and i love the show, we can laugh at his bloviating and point out his bias, but we look forward to watching it together, nonetheless : )

That’s the thing. I get the sense that BOR does very little research himself. He has staff that does it for him.
But then, I haven’t watched his show in years.

i really do think he was grasping at something to show evenhandedness after going after the KOS so hard, and FR is the preeminent conservative website. Bill has said MANY times he doesn’t even know how to turn the computer on, so he isn’t surfing anywhere himself, all of this has been pointed out to him by others.

He used Kristinn to demonstrate he’s ‘unbiased’. Thats all it was. I was really disappointed.
And I’d like to see what it was exactly he was waving in front of the camera’s myself.
I do hope he backtracks on his claims.

Yes, I've heard him say that more than a few times as well. He really doesn't seem to have any idea how a site such as this "works". It's rather shocking, really.
BORe was merely trying a “fair and balanced” hit-n-run. I just saw the interview and was angry that he didn’t allow Kristinn to answer BORe’s ridiculous assertions and mis-statements.
Same here. And I’ll note any other time Fox News will provide ‘screen shots’ on things like this.

He didn’t let Kristinn talk which he does to pretty much everyone. It was as pathetic as when he calls people like Kerry a patriot and bashes the swifties.
The big question is....How can anyone here ever believe anything the guy says?
To be fair, he (BOR) did a great job outting the 9/11 donation scandals, for just one example.

The man is a blowhard and a fetishist whose standards of personal behavior are no better than the ones he condemns daily on his show.

Me to, Bill O’Reilly does not stand for anything. He is just what view will make me more popular. He dogged out swift boat vets for no reason.
