I taped a segment on the O'Reilly Factor for airing tonight to defend Free Republic against charges that it is a hate site. The segment will air in the 'D block' around 8:35 p.m. EDT and rerun at 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT.
Rather than tell how it went, I'll leave it for folks to watch and decide for themselves. I hope I did right by FR.
We'll be having company tonight as some of Bill O'Reilly's two million-plus viewers check out FR for themselves. So please bear that in mind as you comment tonight. The Daily Kos is waging a very nasty personal campaign of retribution against O'Reilly. No sense in us piling on. Let's use this as an opportunity to show people why FR is the best conservative site on the web.

You did great. O’Reilly did mention that FR in no way compared with the hateful stuff that appears on the DailyKOS. That was a fair acknowledgment due — most likely — to your able contributions to the topic.
O’Reilly just said (and he said [quote] several times), “today”. What he found on FR “today”. I didn’t see anything like what he quoted - on FR here today or ever. How can he get away with lying on National TV?
BTW - Kristinn - IMHO, you maintained a ‘cool’ that most of us may not have been able to - being rudly interrupted so many times. Kudos!

I believe you were set up to justify BORs agenda...that websites like FR are hate speech.
I doubt the veracity of the “I hate blacks” post and I would like to see Bore called on it. Has anyone seen this post and who posted it?
Good job Kristinn. I watched the 11:00 rebroadcast. Knowing this site he was shockingly unfair. Someone said that there was a thread with Mugabe in Africa saying “homosexuals are dogs” and O’Reilly twisted the discussion in that thread to try to make the Free Republic look like they let a post stand that said that. Really terrible research if it wasn’t intentional, and I think it was probably intentional.
You are right...Kristinn did a great job trying to make his points...only the last comments by Bill were really unanswered and I am not suprised. He is a master at Spinning !
I hope we are going to continue to find the comments and when they were made...I agree it seems unlikely it was today. He made that a definite point. Has someone “caught” the copy shown and researched it yet?

I just watched this for the second time. I do not believe the allegations about FR that BOR made. You were ambushed with what I believe to be groundless charges. I post here most days and usually all that’s left of a tasteless post is the banned notice. The poster gets zotted and life goes on. I think BOR had some sour grapes about the posts insulting him. I hear Sean Hannity has soured on FR for the same reason.
