A part of him would like to see him charged for their deaths.

OTOH, the helicopters did not have to be following the police doing their jobs.

Agreed. It seems that more and more reporters become the news, or make it, or even worse fabricate it.

Like roaches, one is often too many...

Oh my god...the irony of people complaining about the chases are the same ones turning on the stations to watch the crash. The hypocrisy is deeeeeep on the forum right now. Sad story and there is never a reason to film car chases...but hey that is what people want...right? Drama

I don’t think so. Felony murder law.

I don't think so. For felony murder, the death has to be a reasonably forseeable result of the felony committed. In this case, two news helicopters colliding as a result of the perp's actions would not be reasonably foreseeable. If a cop or other person had died in a car crash as a result of the chase that would present a much better felony murder case.

On another forum someone claiming to be an Arizona lawyer said:

..under Arizona law, this guy will be tried for First Degree Murder and can get the death penalty or life without parole. The reason for this is that he is committing one of a number of applicable crimes (in this case, unlawful flight from law enforcement) and while he is committing this offense another person involved in the offense (the chopper crews who are witnesses) are killed. Doesn't matter under the law if HE killed them or not, just that they were killed while involved in the crime. His ass is going down.

Ok, I have to ask... What are “Choopers?”

It's a a vengeful Indian spirit that was invented by B movie filmmaker Ray Dennis Steckler. :-)

A bit large for that, I's say part of the tail the angle up to the rotor makes it look like feet.

Odd how we're programed to see faces and people, even where they aren't.

Plus a lawyer can bring the intent of the law, which will be shown to have been written by people getting hit by suspect vehicles or pursuing vehicles...not aviation accidents.
