Ambrosia: “You’re The Only Woman.”
Del Amitri: “Lighten Up the Load”
Great thread.
Evening fatima.
Nice thread—thanks
“My Girl”—beats them all by far...David Ruffin was the best.
I’m a sucker for 70’s R&B. I love the Chi-Lites “Oh Girl”, and my favorite is the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There”. I know, it’s a cheesy tune, but you gotta admit, there are some great harmonies in it and little Michael really shows off his pipes.
Michelle Kwan skating to Eva’s “Fields of Gold” at the 2003 World Exhibition:

One of the better amateur music videos featuring Eva’s “Fields of Gold”:

Also, love all those songs. :)
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o, Principessa,
nella tua fredda stanza,
guardi le stelle
che fremono d’amore
e di speranza.
Ma il mio mistero e chiuso in me,
il nome mio nessun sapra!
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo diro
quando la luce splendera!
Ed il mio bacio sciogliera il silenzio
che ti fa mia!
(Il nome suo nessun sapra!...
e noi dovrem, ahime, morir!)
Dilegua, o notte!
Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle!
All’alba vincero!
vincero, vincero!

Some guys buy candy. Some buy jewelry. Some have a romantic candlelight dinner. It was a tough time on Valentine's Day in 1998. Ever the romantic, Bill did this special song for his bride.
BEST OF MY LOVE - Eagles
When I'm finished signing executive orders, I'm in the mood to get laid
So I send the boys out to find a young woman, I tell her don't be afraid
I give some kneepads to her, and I'm looking down at her from above
If anything's left, I will give you the rest of my love
Then they go out trolling and bring me another who will perform like a champ
And I do not care what the right wingers call her, so what that she is a tramp
I'm always thinking of you, because we fit like a hankd and a glove
If anything's left, I will give you the rest of my love
Oh-oh-oh my dear Rodham, you'll get the rest of my love
Oh-oh-oh my dear Rodham, you'll get the rest of my love
You know I'm very weak and I can't help myself, that may sound corny
But I have not grown up, when I see T & A, I'm getting so darn horny
To me chicks are only something that I play with, they're only made to be used
As long as I'm doing the job I was paid for, why do I get so abused
(I say that) it is my private business, so please don't hassle me my sweet turtle dove
If anything's left, I will give you the rest of my love
If anything's left, I will give you the rest of my love I'll give what's left of my love
One of my favorites is Tammy And Marvin doing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” (a couple versions available - this is my favorite)
“Sensitive Kind” by J.J. Cale
BTW, I like all of the songs you posted. :^)
When I was a very little girl, I heard my first love song. To this day - (a hundred years later, wink-wink), it is still my favorite love song.

This was the theme song to the movie “Love Story”. I think it was the summer of 1970 when this movie was in the theaters. Although, the andy williams rendition was not used in the movie, that I know of. The rendition in the movie I think was acoustic guitar, with no vocals.
