I was about 11 years old. It was winter. As I left the school somebody tackled me from behind, buried my face in the snow and then ran off. I guess today that would be attempted murder. My day, child's play.

I never found out who did it , but it just crossed my mind. It could have been my brother. ;-)

Let the girls’ fathers smack the boys on the head a couple of times. That should just about do it.

I was outright sexually harassed at this age, but I would never have wanted the offenders jailed. Suspended for a week and cleaning erasers for the rest of the year, yes. Jailed, no.

McMinnville District Aattorney Bradley Berry should get 10 years.

The most appropriate way to handle this is for an older brother to beat the tar out of the little idiot.

Worked on me. Never did that again.

Treating it as a criminal act is ludicrous.

Sheesh!

We used to snap bra-straps; and the teachers would just frown, and tell us to "knock it off."

There is an upside to all this political correctness (though seventh graders should know better — punishment is in order, but ten years is insane): It is victimizing/traumatizing two or three generations of Americans who are going to have little patience with it when they grow up and become voters. And libs are going to pay dearly for that.

This is scary. Just this week, my 7 year old son told me of an incident that happened this past school year. (2nd grade) A classmate of his told him that whoever lost an arm wrestling contest they were having was either gay or had to touch a girl’s butt. My son had never heard the term gay and so the other kid explained to him, “it’s when one boy likes another boy”. I did not think I needed to have a conversation at 7 with him about homosexuality since he does'nt even know about heterosexuality yet. I told him that sounded weird to me and he he agreed and said, “yeah I did'nt think that was right”. Anyway, apparently he lost the contest and chose to touch a girl’s butt. WELL, Momma did have a conversation with him on that one and some punishment. In fact, I just went over it again when I read to him this article.

Needless, to say, he has been told he will not be able to play with the above mentioned boy. This kid has been trouble in the past also.

Meanwhile, child rapists roam free on the streets of Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, after receiving suspended sentences.

While the boys' parents have opposed such a harsh penalty, McMinnville District Aattorney Bradley Berry said such youthful acts could have longstanding consequences for the alleged victims. "These cases are devastating to children," he said. "They are life-altering cases."

Nah, he's just pissed that he didn't play grabass when he was a kid, or if he did, the girls screamed and he got in trouble over it. This guy is worse than an overzealous cop.

You want to talk about life-altering cases, dipsquirrel? Look at what you're doing over what kids have done for ages.

Have we got another one of the slime bags like the one in North Carolina? The more I hear the more I think persecutors are like little Nazi who only want to get their names in the paper.

Put me on the jury and they will be found NOT Guilty and the persecutor will be found GUILTY.

Oh yeah . . . . . . . that’s the way to solve it. Get the damned lawyers involved. What the boys did was definitely wrong but 13 year olds permanently labeled as “sex offenders”. If I had a million dollars to spend I donate it to a campaign to getting this prosecutor recalled for a lack of common sense. If I was the judge I’d give the parents an alternative you solve it at home or you solve it with hand grenades at three paces AND NO OTHER ALTERNATIVES !!!

This is outrageous! To equate slapping a woman's fanny with sexual assault?? The system has gone off its mental rocker! Those boys may have gone too far with their prank but its not something that should get them labled "sex offenders" for the rest of their lives. The charge doesn't go near the alleged risible nature of the offense.

It must be the time of day, I read the headline and thought it said "Teens Facing Sex, Charge for Butt Slaps"!

okay, maybe it's not the time of day that is the problem.

The teens also could spend as long as 10 years in juvenile detention if found guilty.

10 years for horseplay? Meanwhile, child rapists/abusers often get far less harsh sentences. The kids should've got sent the principal and a few whacks on their posteriors. ...and that's all.

The PC infestation is slowly but surely destroying our culture.
