Before he falls out of the top tier of GOP White House hopefuls, chief advisers to Sen. John McCain are urging him to quit his day job and become a full-time presidential candidate. "Just resign," one says he told McCain. "Show you're all in." Advisers say being a senator is a drag. He doesn't have enough time to campaign and raise money. Worse: The issues he has to vote on, like immigration reform, are killers. If McCain takes that advice, here's the game plan. "Pick three issues conservatives care about and nail them," says one adviser, "and attack [Sen.] Hillary Clinton every day. He needs to break out, and becoming the anti-Hillary will work."

sorry, McCrazy is a day late and a dollar short...
Please take that advice Senator McCain! We out here in AZ would be thrilled!
Too little, too late. Just ask Bob Dole.
Wait a second.
The governor of Arizona is a Dim, right?
He’ll never do it. He knows he wouldn’t win and that seat is a platform for 2012.
She is as far as I know.
Wouldn’t you get a ‘Rat senator, though? I know it doesn’t make that much difference in this case, but at least McLame votes conservative on a few issues and supports our judicial nominees.
Wouldn’t Napolitano replace him with a hardcore leftist ‘Rat?
won't he be like, 103 years old by then?
OK, he'll be 77 but politically, that's the same thing.
—The governor of Arizona is a Dim, right?—
Yep, and I think she’d have no legal restrictions on appointing another dim. If McCain’s ego is large enough, he’ll say screw the GOP and quit the Senate anyway, to focus on the Prez. campaign (perhaps run as an independent too).
Yes she is a Dem and presumably would appoint another Dem to take the seat. Unless they have some kind of system like the one in Wyoming, thankfully, that required the Demo governor there to appoint a Republican after Sen Thomas passed away.
So while few would shed any tears if McCain were to leave, there probably would be a very liberal Democrat taking his place.
They are probably the same advisers who urged him to give all out support to the amnesty bill.
The only people I know who like McCain are registered Democrats. I kind of suspect that McCain's advisors are planning to vote for Hillary. And maybe he is too.
What - are his advisors Democrats? Quite the Senate and let some liberal Democrat appoint his successor? I’ve got a better idea - QUIT THE RACE!!!
If you quit your Senate seat the RAT gov in AZ will appoint a RAT to fill the rest of your term.
You're pretty RAT-like yourself but I figure better to have a RAT-like RINO than a full fledged RAT.
Seems to me the best solution for the country would be for you to quit your presidential run. Let's see... then it would be Rudy McRomney (with Fred waiting in the wings)
Your friend,
upchuck
PS: If you'd like more free advice (seeing as how you're having all sorts of cash flow problems), just let me know.
Yeah. Quit the senate. Then, while you won’t be a senator, neither will you be the POTUS.
Works for me.
It is just fine with me if Johnny goes marching home from his Senate seat, but you’ll not likely ever see a Democrat do such a thing.
I think that they should all be limited to 1 term anyhow.
McCain is “Amnesty Fiasco” short. His position on the Amnesty fiasco makes him toast. IMO, he should start looking for his next private sector job.
That would be foolish
I think it would be a good thing if he resigned. Sure Napolitano would appoint a dem, but that would put the seat up in 2008. We would have one less rino and a chance of getting a conservative pro border senator.
