Why Britain and not the U.S.?

By Matthew Schofield McClatchy Newspapers

LONDON — From the moment that emergency workers spotted the bomb-laden car a week ago in London's crowded West End, it was clear that for the fourth straight year — and third straight summer — this city was being readied for a major terrorist attack.

Yet England isn't the Great Satan to al-Qaida extremists. Terrorism experts all agree that for al-Qaida operatives and sympathizers, the preferred villain is the United States.

So why do attacks keep happening here? And why, since the horror of Sept. 11, has America avoided another assault?

Because the terrorists don’t want to disrupt all of the support they’re getting from the liberals in Congress and the press in this country.

Also, a significant percentage of U.S. citizens are better prepared to respond to potential threats.

If any liberal is elected president in 2008, they will be tested across this land by the Islamofascist serial killers shortly after they are sworn in within hours if not minutes after taking office. Their response will be to pull all troops back home and to start deballing our military.

Agree to a point. The timing is tricky for AQ. They realize that the best hope that they have for victory in Iraq is a Dem in the WH. However, they also don't want to see the surge working in Iraq and realize that this coming September will be crucial for them to convince Congress that the war in Iraq in unwinnable and the US should get out. Whether that means a Tet-style attack in Iraq or a spectacular attack in the US clearly linked to our presence in Iraq or both is a matter of conjecture, but I wouldn't rule it out.

The best time may be just after the 2008 election or right after a new administration takes office in 2009, but AQ has no guarantee that a Dem will win the WH. Their best course of action would be for the war to be front and center as THE issue in the 2008 campaign and the best way to do that is to inflict major casualties on us, military and civilian, throughout the world including here. In any event, we haven't been attacked because of a conscious strategy by AQ, not because we have developed an impenetrable defense against terrorist attacks within the US.

That giant sucking sound that Ross Perot warned us about years ago is now a deafening noise in the UK, and it is coming from G. Brown's Islamofascist butt kissing.

It’s just a matter of time for the U.S. ... the terrorists will start their thing here, too.

Why Britain and not the U.S? Because England is saturated with third world immigrants and has been for a long time.

The U.S. is not yet so infiltrated by Muslims that similar attacks can begin. There is an addition reason. Millions and millions of Americans are armed. The brave and courageous Hooded Muslims will find that attacking school buses and Macdonald's will not be as easy as it is in countries like Britain where gun ownership by private citizens is not permitted.

For example, I go fully armed and I am trained to use my guns . And, I profile.

The Islamic population in the United States is better assimilated into the general population, whereas here, in Germany, in France, they're very much on the outside looking in.

This is naive beyond belief. There's no "assimilation" of Islamic Swine here in the US. Who were Mohamed Atta's American friends?

I can think of only two reasons why we in the US have not been hit. (Well maybe three. We do define away some hits like AA587, or the guy who shot up the ElAl counter at LAX.) One is that we are defending ourselves better than the Europeans. The other is that the Islamic Swine know that the call to incinerate Mecca would be overwhelming here if WTC II were perpetrated.

I think the islamonazis recognize the difference in national character. Bombing in the UK is followed by the PM banning the use of “muslim” to describe the bombers. Bombing in the USA is followed by the conquest of two countries that offended us and the serious consideration of nuke first strikes. Oh yeah, we also re-elected a Texan by a whopping margin!! It reminds me of the moment before the London Blitz when Churchill would stand outside shouting at the German bombers flying overhead, “Bomb London”! He knew that as long as the Germans stuck to military targets, the citizenry would not unite behind the war effort.

"Airliners from the international Airport of Dubai fly to the US every day.

Strange there is no hysteria about that."

Why is that such a major concern? Those wishing to do us ill have the ability to fly out of myriad airports in the ME region...Dubai is but one of many...

"The Islamic population in the United States is better assimilated into the general population, whereas here, in Germany, in France, they're very much on the outside looking in," he said. "When people get disaffected, sadly, there's not much loyalty to country in that sort of situation."

Numbers and dispersion have a lot to do with it. Outside of maybe Detroit we don't have the very large concentrations of Muslims that you'll find in Britain.

Even in New York and Los Angeles Muslims are divided between various nationalities. Is there a "Muslim part of town" in NYC or LA?

In much of Britain by contrast, South Asians are the largest minority group and the greater part of the South Asians are Muslims.

Well, all kidding aside, if the Congress refused to allow the use of force to retaliate for another attack, I think certain members of Congress would also be subject to “regime change”. I don’t believe there are enough anti-war kooks to keep them in office. Sure there are enough kooks in some states to keep some of the most vocal offenders in office and spouting their oral flatulence but, I don’t think there are enough of them to deny the President the authority to use force.

I’m not concerned.

And I wasn’t concerned about the Dubai ports deal that caused so much hysteria.

OPINION-SPECULATION: Well the bads guys have tried, and tried, and tried...over the years, but the lame-stream media doesn’t provide adequate coverage regarding the attempts or they play down the accounts of the incidents or they stick the story far from the from the page of their news site and/or newspaper.

Now, jihad is an everyday thing for jihadis.

When jihadis have a window of opportunity
AND the means to accomplish a terrorist
event; they will do it.

Why?

Because it’s jihad, another day.

sorry,..no..space..bar

Well in a pinch you can open any document that has a space in it and copy one to the clipboard, then just press command-v instead of the space bar, besides any USB pc keyboard will work anyway.
