I have a rule not to believe a word that Reid says, he is a liar who makes stuff up as he goes along, even on the floor of the Senate.
These were the same people complaining when Republicans were holding all of them. Congress gives low approval for dem.controlled Congress because they want to give them Presidency. How idiotic that sounds?
Is that the same Bill Lee involved with the toon’s WH?
Yes, a negative victory is still a victory.
The point I am trying to make is instead of rolling over and going back to sleep, which seems to be the Right’s habit everytime they win something in politics, they should be thinking:
“Now what”? Because the Right won a victory last week but the war goes on.
Leahy more than deserved it. He is a despicable worm.
re: the awards...
I’m working on it! Really. ;^>
I’ll post the honorable mentions in a few minutes first then follow with the top 10 a little later. Probably not much commentary this week. I’m jumping back and forth between this and real work that I have to get done this weekend.
1. The problem of securing our borders.
2. The problem of what to do with the millions of illegals already here.
Congress tried to combine the two issues for sheer political gain and got busted by an overwhelming majority of the populace. So great it collapsed phone systems.
The challenge now is to get a Presidential candidate who is strong enough to run on the separation of both issues, then get elected, and then get both sides to agree on the separation. I don't know if it can be done or not.
Many see Fred Thompson as our only hope,it's gonna get interesting.
Thanks, you know better than us in these. I just quoted Mark Stein, who is a good journalist so I wanted to make sure from you.
Howdy!

Kristol mentions that Chertoff wanted a tamper-proof ID.
A couple of weeks ago, a Congressman (and I don’t remember which one) said that the last session of Congress passed a bill that provided for the tamper-proof ID but that the Bush administration had never implemented it. [The Congressman made that statement right after an interview in which Tony Snow was saying they needed a National ID.]
Juan still hasn’t read the bill, apparently.
It gave legal status to illegals as soon as it was signed. The fines Juan mentioned ONLY kicked in IF the illegal applied for the Z-VISA. If the illegal never applied for the Z-VISA, that illegals would still have legal status.
The guests are third tier week. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I know in comparison for the length of campaign we have and population in the UK, the percentage is probably the same but because of the length of your campaigns the total amount to me I think is appalling.
Surely it could be spent on much better causes than funding politicians to gallivant around the country, many of which stand no chance of getting elected in the first place.
This is not meant as an attack on your country as such but an observation from someone from another country which has a different but of course just as bad but in a smaller scale system.
Very true
In every speech President Bush has given on the issue he sepeates the problem into three parts.
1. Secure the border
2. Deal with the illegals all ready here.
3. Guest worker.
Why they cannot seem to grasp that you do NOT need to do all three in one bill I will never understand.
IF they would do 1, then in a few years they could maybe move on to 2 and three. But as long as 1 remains undone, NO one is going to trust DC on 2 and 3.
All I know is he is an young businessman settled in CA.
Good point.
But I’m sure someone’s kept an accurate count somewhere.
One that doesn’t involve the Lancet report.
