PRESIDENT BUSH: I thank the members of the Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform bill. I'm sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill this morning.
Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people, and Congress's failure to act on it is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn't find common ground. It -- it didn't work. ...
Neither had Voinovych from OH which was why Hannity was able to make mincemeat of him yesterday. The only difference is he was able to vote on it, not just voice an opinion about why he supported it.
Canada is even doing better now than the US. They refuse to consider amnesties and recently did away with the anchor baby law they had there. It's only the US in the world that has a president who expects us to willingly commit national suicide in order to accommodate invading lawbreakers.
Just as R. Reagan was (There is a segment of the Freep that would want R. Reagan impeached and tell us he isn't a true conservative).
R. Reagan gave blanket full amnesty (no requirements) to all illegals. He cut and ran from Beirut after putting our warriors there, he flip-flopped on Soc Sec, and not only abandoned his goal of private accounts, but increased FICA taxes on ALL American's to boot, he appointed the terrible PC choice of SDO to the SCOUTS (just for the DEMs and MSM)....
Yes, he was also a sick joke and a complete failure wasn't he?
You guys are loons.
THE PRESIDENT El Presidente: I thank the members of the Democrat and RINO Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform Amnesty bill. Im sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill screw over the majority of Americans this morning.
ILLegal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people and Congresss my Administration's failure to act on it enforce the law is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws enforcement. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldnt find a common ground pull the wool over their eyes, it didnt work.
Congress really needs to prove to the American people our buddies on K Street that it can come together on hard issues overcome these damned voters.
LOl - hilarious pic! Only problem is that he is too thick to understand Mexico will still hate him and hurt him every chance they get, as will Teddy Kennedy. In the meantime he lets Libby rot in jail and his supporters twist in the wind.
Vaya del diablo, Presidente Whore-hay!
Our POTUS was an idiot that cannot realize that a supermajority of the citizens in this country despise his position on illegal immigration. Also the fact that he is ignoring his Constitutional Oath to protect the USA from INVASION is not the act of a man of class.
A man of class does not reward illegal behavior by bumping them ahead of legal immigrants that play by the rules.
in 86, there was no where near this problem. The Heritage Foundation report on this bill clearly shows the danger to our Republic is this bill was passed. We would easily have 50 million more flood across. Under the current conditions we face from the hordes flowing across and the chained migration alone in this bill, I could never imagine Reagan signing this monstrosity. (if he were alive and President today) The comparison you make is wrong. Your nature shows with you calling me a loon. How very civil of you :)
Dear Mr. President,
You speak about Congress and what they need to do.
Remember Someone speaking of a log in one’s own eye?
What do you and Sec. Chertoff need to do?
J.Q. Public
Well, at least Reagan could complete a frickin’ sentence without slurring and stammering and taking a 8 second alcy pause between words.
Does he actually think a little before he says these things or is he reading scripts???....I’m starting to see flashes of “Caine Mutiny”....
He is STILL unwilling to concede defeat. He pretends that he speaks for the citizenry, implies that we were behind this bill, and blames the Senate for not coming to agreement on it.
Even now he cannot simply concede that this bill went down because the American people have spoken. What a dangerous, arrogant fool. He fancies himself king, not president of a republic.
Jorge-
READ MY LIPS..............
DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS................NOW!!!
depressing reading
WRONG!!! ILLEGAL immigration is THE top concern of the American people. The biggest disappointment of all is this Administration's steadfast REFUSAL to enforce the immigration laws as they currently stand and to build the mandated 370 mile fence along the Mexican border. Mr. (Mexican Puppet) Bush's actions on this issue border (no pun intended) on treason! His all out advocacy of the S.1348/S.1639 monstrosity is damning evidence. Bush has done NOTHING to enhance border security, but has done everything he can, including selectively ignoring the laws of this country to subvert, undermine and destroy the sovereignty of the United States.
No more Clintons and no more Bushes!
There is an easy solution to this +30 year problem.
Enforce the laws on the books already. That seems like a simple solution to me.
It’s all there - everything necessary to secure the borders and get the invaders out exist already. Put in place by R. Reagan in 1986.
Please take notice that I have not ripped the President one bit. But I can assure you that I have not been pleased by his actions this term.
He misread the pulse of the citizens of America. He continued on regardless. And I might ask - at what cost?
Well said. Reagan was against Carter’s Panama Canal giveaway, so there would be NO WAY he’d ever consider giving our country away!
