Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.
On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.
Didi, did you just hear the caller to Rush with the amendments? ROFL
Amnesty for:
Senators involved in vehicular homicides in July of ‘69
Senators that were kleagles
Senators involved in shady land deals.
Did Boxer vote against cloture? If how they voted is posted please direct my there old timer.
The MSM was IMMEDIATELY pronouncing the headline "Senate blocks Bush's immigration bill" mere moments after the vote. Regardless of who was for or against it, this will be spun as a loss for Bush. Had it passed, it would have been hailed as a great victory for the new Democrat-controlled Congress. Up is down... DO NOT forget that many of the sheeple believe what the MSM feeds them, and that will ALWAYS be slanted against the President.
Bush was and is DEAD WRONG on immigration, as are many of the Dems. Win or lose, right or wrong, Bush is always wrong though, and the Dems always right, in the MSM's eyes.
On the upside, this gives FDT the perfect issue on which to distance himself from Bush. It's very public, stirred up a HUGE grassroots movement by the base, and has nothing to do with policy on Iraq.
You're kidding, aren't you? She voted yes, of course. All that indecisiveness was just a sham...she's pink to her underwear.
Bush deserves everything he gets!
Yep. "Being a democrat means never having to say you're sorry."
The MSM can spin it but within the Democrat Senate cloak room and among the groups the Dems are beholden to there is anger and recrimination over this loss!
On the immigration issue, ABSOLUTELY! His support for this POS is utterly inexcusable, as is the lack of enforcement, failure to build the fence, etc.
As I said, I hope this very messy and public grassroots rebellion against Bush and the RINOs helps lay the groundwork for a TRUE CONSERVATIVE successor as President, in addition to ousting the RINOs from Congress.
We all know why you erased your profile. The beauty is that you insulted so many freepers with your name calling (nazi, racist, KKKer, moron...) that more than a few took a look at it before you tried to pretend it never existed...and we remember.
Agreeing with you in this prayer.
Oh, quite possibly...but the Sheeple will never know. Who's going to tell them, the MSM? Har!
There’s a guy on this thread {JeffAtlanta} claiming this is a win for Dems and a loss for Republicans. Time will prove, I believe, that statement to be utterly incorrect.
We may have been part of a monumental watershed moment here. This may turn-out to be the “Amnestias” last hoorah!
That’s the one that got me totally roaring! LOL!
That’s the $64,000 question. I don’t expect much of the government, but I do want laws enforced against employers who are jeopardizing our country, our security, and our culture, by hiring illegals.
I disagree. The market didn’t know what the vote would be.
Money always knows.
And Ray Nagin could supply the buses. (pre-flooded for convenience)
